Restructuring of Payment Terms

:confused:I had entered an agreement to pay back my credit card debt for an amount of $100.00 per month. Due to illness and economic hardship I have attempted to have the bank restructure payment plan to know avail. Since I could no longer make the $100.00 per month payments and they refused to renegoiate the terms there was no alternative but to send them $75.00 per month in good faith to pay off the debt. This payment was readily accepted and when I was contacted by the bank they told be not to worry just to keep making the payments. Imagine my surprise when I tried to apply for financial aide for my daughter and was turned down because the bank chose to report that I was past payments of over 120 days because I was paying $75.00 instead of $100.00. I attempted to call and try and negoitate again to no avail. This is how they thank you in trying to do the right thing ruining your credit.
Is there anything I can do?

If you are denied a PLUS loan and are denied, the student is now eligible for additional unsub federal loans. Talk to a financial aid officer.

This is certainly good news. This could open up some new possibilities for me in the future.
