I have been reading posts and noticed that payday loan companies threaten a lot but not no person have mentioned actually being sued or have their wages garnished. Do these companies just fade away after we write letters to them? My loan is Zip 19. I used a model letter from this site revoking all and giving them five days to respond. That was over a week ago. N contact has been made to my references or my employer (who by the wAy gives no information regarding me or any employee without my permission)
Has anyone been successful at getting these scumbags off their backs?

I haven't heard of lenders suing people that they can't, i.e. an unlicensed tribal lender suing someone for money in a state they cannot operate in. There are many cases of the big payday lenders like Advance America suing people all the time for unpaid loans, however. It really depends on your situation, if they are not licensed to lend in your state just pay back the principal and let it go.

Zip19 is an illegal lender in all 50 states. The best way to get these monkeys from running amok and harassing you is to file complaints with the AG and the FTC. That should get things moving. Moreover, ignore the calls. They should get bored and bug off.

PDLs do sue but you don't hear much about it because actual lenders who operate legally rarely resort to threatening or any such thing. They are easy to work with as well. Plus, they can take you to court and get whatever you owe them in a day and some more rather than call you 7 days a week for 10 times a day and get nothing out of you.
