I wanted to pass this along because payday loans are really raking in the bucks from everyday people who are needing money to make ends meet. I use to be one of those people some years back, and ended up over our heads. We did finially get out of the cycle, but not until significant damage was done, not only to our credit report, but our bank accounts and our lives. If I can provide information that will help one person not have to go the regular payday loan route and save them from all the heart ache they cause, then I will feel that I have done some good here on this community.

After doing some checking, these type of loans are for members only and they do have a little bit more guidelines that regular PDLs. Like I said, you have to be a member of the credit union, they MAY want you to have direct deposit. You probably will have to go into the credit union to fill out a short application, make sure you you have your ID and they will probably want 2 paystubs. These loans are usually based on your income and are usually for 31 days. Our credit union offers loans from $50 to $500, but other credit unions may offer something different.

If you are a member of a credit union, this is something to talk to them about. For my husband and I, his work offers a credit union, which we became members of a long time ago, but there is not a branch here in NC, so we cannot go and apply for one of these loans, because we have to go into the office in person. But if you can go this route, this is a lot better then the PDLs you find on the internet, etc. If you can become a member, and there is a branch locally, that may be a plus for you. I was informed by our credit union they only let you get one of these loans 4 times a year.

But if you need money, check with your credit union, if you are a member. If you are not, check with your bank. There still MAY be something they can do to help with a small personal loan. Even if the interest is say 20 to 25%, that is still less then what PDL companies charge. Just a little info and I sure hope it helps.
