Recently i have discovered that a pay day loan company from over 10 years ago has hired an atty to view my credit report without my permission and not only that, they found out that i had opened a new account with a credit union & sent them a notice to put a lien on my account. What are my rights. I mean this account is over 10 years old & i do not owe them anything. How can i have this hold removed from my account, do i need to file suit against the credit union for not protecting my rights?

For starters, you cannot sue your credit union ...it is up to YOU to protect your rights, not them. If a lien has been placed on your account, it means at some point in time you were sued by this PDL.
Have you checked you credit report lately?? The lein cannot be lifted unless the judgment has been resolved.

Also, an attorney doesnt need permission to pull your credit report when they have a debt assigned to them.
