Frozen account per debt collector

Hello,
I had an account that was charged off and purchased by the Peroutka & Peroutka law firm I was put on a payment plan and have been for about a year and a half. I recently missed a payment and then doubled up on my next payment. P&P sent back my check with notice that I had breached the agreement and they were moving forward with garnishing my wages. They have frozen my account and are moving forward with legal proceedings. WHO IN THE HECK SENDS BACK A PAYMENT! They gave no notice that this was the course of action if a payment was missed. I don't recall signing a such an agreement. I would have remembered this in the fine print. Is this normal practice? What should be my next course of action?

Somewhere along the line, you were sued. Did you receive a summons?? Show up in court. Sounds like they were allowing you to make payments instead of pursuing legal court remedies. You missed a payment which means the payment plan is null and void. This is pretty standard.
