I was contacted by "don freeman" from interstates compliance yesterday at work. He first told me he needed the name and phone # of my attorney. When i began to give it to him he stated, no my attorney must call him back by the end of the day. I asked him what this was regarding, he stated a loan from jvc processing, (this was a payday loan, it was legally dischared by chapter 7 bankruptcy)he stated jvc processing had written off the debt but the "parent company wanted me prosecuted" he then told me he had no choice but to "download" affadavits for my arrest. He would not give me any further info, address, etc, but told me now that he had me on the phone my attorney must contact him within the hour. He was very rude and threatening. My attorney did call him right away, and once he told him he was my attorney mr. Freeman hung up, both my attorney and i called again several times and never got thru to him again. Can i be arrested? Help? How do i stop him from calling again?

Interstate Compliance Wireless Bureau has some connection with Ellis Crosby. Check this forum and you will gather a lot of information about them. They use such illegal tricks in their collection attempts. Do not fear from them. You can't be sent to jail for a debt that has been discharged in your bankruptcy. In fact, you can't be sent to jail even if you don't pay the debts.

fdcpa laws allow fair legal collection procedures. The tactics used by the company shows that they are trying to misrepresent your account. Moreover, they sound rude and threatening in the call. Check your state laws and see if you can record the phone calls secretly or you need to take their consent. The recording will serve as a legal proof of the harassment used by the company. Consult your attorney for more on this issue.

Not sure why but my previous thread was closed.

Anyway, it seems that at some point I moved from ns2 to ns1 without realising and hence all my problems dont seem to be with ns2, but actually ns1
