I had a loan with Great Plains Lending. I paid the principal and $259 in interest. I send them an e-mail stating that they are illegal, etc. and that I want the $259 overpayment refunded within 10 days. They sent me an e-mail stating that the account was closed but did not address the refund. I sent them another e-mail in regards to the refund and they have not responded. What should I do from here? Should I call or should I just email them every day? Thanks:)

I have e-mailed Great Plains Lending four times requesting a refund and they have not responded. I have made three calls to them which two out of the three I was told it was being worked on and they would call me back and they didn't. Today when I called I was told that in order to get a refund that I have to send in a copy of my bank statement showing the payments I made to them. I asked if I could get a letter from my bank listing all the payments that I sent to them or block out my account number he stated no only a bank statement. Any advise on what to do from here?

That is what I thought and what I told him. I said that they can see what was paid and that I paid more than the principal. It's just so frustrating!

First of all I do agree with Soap Lady but if you really want to pursue this I would never send my bank statement to anyone ( you would be opening another can of worms) But if you log into their site there is a payment schuedle showing all of the payments.I would tell them that. Seriously they know how much money they have received.

I do have one other question for you. How long after you sent the letter did they respond to you that the account was closed? I sent a letter to them and am still waiting. Thanks
