I incurred my debt while I lived in Washington. In 2009 I relocated to Louisiana. Fast forward thru some hard financial times and my HFC credit line (where you can write a check and g et money or go in the store and get money) was closed with my owing 10k.

Daniel Gordon has been calling me regarding this matter off and on for about a year. I havent ever returned a phone call and have NEVER received anything in writing. Apparently when the law firm took over, they didnt use my updated address and still had my Washington address.

So my questions:
1. Should I call and give them my updated address? Send them a letter with it?

2. Can I still send them a DV request?

3. My last payment was October 1, 2010. SOL for Louisiana is 3 years but SOL for Washington is 6. Under which state's rules would I fall????

Any time I can buy will hopefully allow me more time to put away some money to pay the debt.

1. If you are considering repaying the debt, send them the DV letter along with your updated contact information.

2. Understand that in case you do not intend to repay the debt, they will at one point sue you over it and possibly get a default judgment since you will never receive the summons (they do not have your current address) and in turn not appear in court.

3. The SoL for the debt will be dictated by the laws of the state in which the debt was incurred. In this case it will be 6 years.
