Mortgage Company Occupancy check

One time last month - and twice this past week - we've had three seperate people come to verify the occupanyc of our home.

The first time, it was a man with a white paper and all he said and the paper said was to ".Call Mortgage company". My husband's name was listed, but all other info was blank (address, account, number to call, company of mortgage).

We have a first and second mortgage.
My husband was discharged from a CH . 13 in May 2012 after repaying five years.

Last week we had someone come, block our driveway and wait for him. Same thing. He called Wells Fargo - but the gentleman he was talking to didn't know anything of it or what to tell him. He did tell him that he was "late" on his payment because only the past month showed. However, it had been sent just not posted (electronicaly - the day before).
Today - we got another person - piece of paper...no info filled in but my husband's name. My husband asked again and all he said was it was to verify we lived there.It WAS dated for Aug 17th - which is the same day as above, so it may have been related to that payment not posting.
Anyone have ANY idea why? Could this be stemmed by his discharge?
We recently changed our number.
I'm lost and if I call - I get nothing but circles on ...well, nothing.
