calls from Asset Acceptance

I've been receiving calls from Asset Acceptance (they never leave a message but I see the name on my caller ID). I've never received a letter from them. My credit report is clean (all statuses are "paid or paying as agreed"), so I have no idea why they might be interested in me.
Can I safely ignore these calls unless and until I get a letter from them?

Asset aceptance is a junk debt buyer. If you do not owe anything, answer the phone and let them know they have the wrong number. You may want to take their address down so you can send them a cease and desist.
hangup calls
I've been getting hangup calls and no messages from these scammers every day, twice a day, for a few weeks now on my unlisted house phone that I only use for Internet and never give out to any businesses. I've picked up the phone twice to see if they'll at least tell me who they're looking for, but when I say hello they hang up. So they're obviously just scam artists phishing for my bank information.

I wouldnt call them scam artist....they generally collect on junk debt that they have purchased so their is some legitimacy.
It was the dialer calling you.

Paranoid question, but Ive read from a few posters on here that when some schools call you with an acceptance, before they tell you the good news, theres a bit of a soft interview that takes place first. Is that true? And if so, whats the consequence of just letting calls like that go to voicemail?

What does school acceptance have to do in a thread about Asset Acceptance?? Unless you were only posting to get your link posted.
School acceptances are done thru the mail. Interviews are set up by appointment, so if you let an interview call go to voice mail and miss your appointment, dont expect a welcome letter from the school.
