I'm a new yorker as well and I have good news for you - YOU DON'T OWE THESE PEOPLE ANYTHING. DO NOT CONSOLIDATE!
Payday loans are illegal in New York, and any loan with an APR over 25% is NULL and VOID. Close your bank account NOW - revoke ACH with all these people.

Update on my lenders. I sent all six letters. Only one I heard from was Hawkblue. I told them that I stand by my letter and that's when the threaten to garnish my wages. The called me again, and I told them if they ever call my job again, which is not aloud at my company, I would hire a lawyer and they would never received anything. They hung up on me and I haven't heard anything from them since. Waiting now to see which ones answer me.
Thank you to everyone for the advice.

Does anyone know anything about these people. I did a search and it says that they are rude and will sue you over the amount.
I offered to pay the principal amount but they still turned this into this place.
Any suggestions on what I need to do next. Thanks.:(

As soon as you receive mail from them, send a cease and desist letter. Inform them that Payday loans are illegal in your state and the contract is null and void and that you never want to hear from them again. National is a collection again...they cannot sue you...only an law office and sue and they would be pretty stupid even to try.
Quit being nervous!! They cannot garnish you without judgment.
Quit being nervous!! They cannot garnish you without judgment. If you have done a wage assignment revocation they cannot touch you that way. Even if they attempted to sue you, your defense would be that the loan itself is flawed or dirty because your state law prohibits them.

Received a call today at my job.
Said his name was Mr Swogan from TR Solutions. He offered me a deal instead of $260 he would cut it down to $215 if I gave him my checking account number today and the payment would be removed by Sept. 28. His number is 855-238-4061.
Any idea if this is a legitimate company or a scam.
Thanks.

I just received this message. Is it true that tribal companies are legal. Thanks.
Rebecca
Your account is with an outside collection agency. We are a Tribal Company. You may want to check into the laws concerning Tribal Lending. Also, we received a fax that you are working with a debt company. I would advise them on our company status and the staus of your loan.
Thank You

Tribal lenders are NOT legal...they are just trying to confuse you which is common if you had read up on these types of loans.
I do not recommend including illegal loans in a debt program...you only owe principal, no interest and no fees. You should not waste additional money paying another company to pay it for you.

I have sent emails and faxes to all the lenders offering to pay what is left on the principal. They have refused and turned them into collections. Two are at National and one is at another I have no idea of. What do I do now? Do I wait until the letters from them come? How do I handle it now. My last resort would be a credit consolidation group like Relief LLC or PDLA but I don't really want to deal with either one. Please advice. I really don't want to be sued or get a judgment or a wage garnishment. Thanks.

With all due respect, I don't think you're 'getting' it. You cannot be sued or garnished for illegal loans. These loans are completely illegal and you technically owe them nothing. Paying the principal is only the right thing to do. If your financial situation merits it, pay them a dollar a month. They cannot compel you to pay an illegal loan.

update
Hi everyone, I want to thank everyone for their help in the past couple of weeks.
I wanted to give everyone an update on things.
The National Credit Adjustors have been calling my job and threatening me with lawsuits and other things. I refused to give them a bank account number. My boss started to get mad because they were calling about every two hours for two days. I explained to him what was going on. They then called and spoke to her. They told her that I was a deadbeat that refuses to pay debts that I owe. She asked them to live a name number and address and she will talk to me. She then called the Attorney Generals Office and explain it to them. They got in touch with me and told me not to speak to them. Give them the cease contact letter, which I have already done to the ones that I had emails or fax numbers for.
He said that if they send me a letter with a return address or address to send in payment they want it and they will handle it from there.
He said that I am not to even pay the principal amount that is left, we figures out would be approx $400 from all six after the fees that they kept taking. He said that if I give them any money at all they will keep after me for more. He want to handle things if I get any information. My boss is also going to try to get info from them to give to the Attorney Generals office.
I want to thank everyone for their help through this and I am sorry if I was a bit of a pain. I guess I just get to nervous about things and when people threatening me, I get nervous which makes it even worse.
Thanks again everyone.
I will keep you up to date if the Attorney General finds out anything.
Thanks again
Becky

question??
Everything is still going ok regarding my loans.
I do have a question and wonder if anyone can answer it for me.
"What rights did the NCA have to tell my boss why they were calling, what I owed for and how much, they say I owe, and call me a deadbeat." Shouldn't that be against the law for them to discuss matters with someone else without permission? I'm not going to do anything about it but I was just wondering.
Thanks
Becky

update
I have a couple of updates: National Credit Adjustors sent me a letter demanding payment for two loans. They amounts a way more that I owed. I sent them a cease and desist letter. Have to wait now and see what happens.
My Income Sciences sent me an email threatening me with court action. I contacted the Attorney Generals office and he said they needed an address. I asked them for an address, they said they can't give one. I did get a different phone number though. The man from the Attorney Generals office called them, they refused to talk to him. He did find out that they are from British Columbia. He tried to call them back but they blocked his number. I haven't heard anything since.
Time will tell now if they try anything again and if they do it will go straight to the Attorney Generals office.
Thanks for all the help. I would have gone through with the consolidation and paid them all without all of you here. Thanks again.:D

update
Here is something very funny for everyone to hear. I sent for information for payday loan consolidation, before working with everyone on here. Today I received an email from them and the man told me that if I do not pay my loans they will sue me and they can take my bank account and my wages. I just laughed. He then went on and said that people saying that payday loans are illegal are wrong. He said that they are legal and they will ruin me if I do not set up to pay them.
I know he is just trying to get me to sign up with them because he wants the fees they charge. I didn't respond to me.
I can't believe that they would send messages to people to try and scare them to sign up for payday consolidation.
Just thought I'd give an update.
Thanks
Becky

Yup - they work hand in hand. Let me give an example.
You owe three PDLs, each originally loaned you 300 dollars. I am the PDL consolidator - I take over your loans and have you close your bank account. Most illegal PDLs are 30/100 - so you owe 390 to each of them. Now that you've closed your bank you have late fees, return payment fees, etc. assessed by the lenders. So now each loan is say, 900 dollars. I tell you that I negotiated the lender to 400, and the rest is my 'fee'.

Hi everyone,
I have another question.
I sent NCA a cease letter to not contact me. They called my job today. I also received another letter in the mail from them. Can they legal keep contacting me after I sent them the letter. Should I resent the letter and send it register return receipt. I only sent it delivery confirmation the last time.
Thanks
Becky

Yes I do have the delivery confirmation from the Post Office. I resent it today with a certified returned mail receipt. So I will have it for my records with the name of the person who signed for it and the date. Then they can't argue and say they never received it.
Thanks

If you have a delivery confirmation of the first one, that might be good enough to prove that they did receive your DV and since they've ignored it, they're violating FDCPA.
I'd file a complaint with the FTC and show your delivery confirmation along with the contacts that took place after the date of the delivery.
