I had asked an earlier question about Payday loans in Maine. I have since created my account. I am preparing my emails to the lenders now. Have any of you had good or bad experiences with the lenders listed below?

JD Marketing:
$400 Deposit
Paid = $1470
Over paid = $1045 (minus the original loan amount and the $25.00 in interest they are allowed to charge me)

Jupiter Funding:
$400 Deposit
Paid = $640.00
Over paid = $215 (minus the original loan amount and the $25.00 in interest they are allowed to charge me)

500 Fast Cash
$600 Deposit
Paid = $1980
Over paid = $1355 (minus the original loan amount and the $25.00 in interest they are allowed to charge me)

Goldline Funding
$250 Deposit
Paid = $387.00
Over paid = $112 (minus the original loan amount and the $25.00 in interest they are allowed to charge me)

Star
$800 Deposit
Paid = $1200
Overpaid = $375.00 (minus the original loan amount and the $25.00 in interest they are allowed to charge me)

CashJar
$825.00 Deposit
Paid = $3064
Overpaid = $2314 (minus the original loan amount and the $25.00 in interest they are allowed to charge me)

Two that I still owe on; however, I am claiming PIF due to previous loans:
Dollar Quick:
$500 Deposit
$359.29 Paid - Owe $165.71
Prior Loan:
$500.00 Deposit
Paid $1376.20
Overpaid first loan: $851.20
I am going to claim that they owe me an overpayment of $685.49.

Advantage Cash:
$800 Deposit
Paid $240.00
Still owe: $585 (with the $25 allowed interest payment)
Prior Loan:
$800 Deposit
Paid $2210.00
Overpaid $1385
I am going to claim that they owe me an overpayment of $850.00.

Still Owe:
IdealGelt:
$1000 Deposit
Paid = $900.00

Wow - seeing all of this in writing is pretty shameful. I cannot believe all of the money I have paid in this year alone. I can't even begin to think what I have wasted in the last 6 years.

I know that there is just about zero chance of me getting a refund, but it doesn't hurt to tell them I expect one, right?

Keep fighting for a refund. Many times, the lenders who are running an illegal online loan (i.e. they are located in Delaware lending to a Maine resident) will cough up the refund. It's the tribal and the offshore ones who will usually not budge. Keep pressing them and threaten them with legal action.

I had a loan with Dollar Quick which I took out in 2007. After finding this site, I decided to ask for a refund in November 2011. After many emails and bank statements from closed account, I proved that I was entitled to a refund. I did receive it. Email address I used at the time was customerservice@dollarquick.com Phone number was 866-435-0358. Not sure if this is still correct. Good luck to you!

I went to open another bank account today and was denied due to Chexwhatever. I am going to try a local credit union tomorrow. It seems like my main problem now is I may have to leave my account open with the evil BOA.

Has anyone here tried the second chance checking accounts? I am leery of doing an online checking account, but I need a place for direct deposits.

Well, the credit union would only give me a savings account; however, on a whim I applied to TD and they did give me a checking account - phew.

I sent my emails and went to BoA today about closing my account or making deposit only. They refused since I was overdrawn. They said my only two options where stop payments or just let the account keep overdrafting until the bank closes the account. They also told me that if I opened a new account with BoA, they would probably take money from the new account to clear up the balance of other one.

Guess what I chose? Guess I have to stick with TD for 5 years until BoA gets taken off of Chexsystems. At least now I don't feel bad about being in the negative at BoA.

Well - it has been over a month now. The only 2 lenders I have problems with right now are Cashcall and IdealGelt. Both of these are still trying to hit my account and insisting they talk to me.

I keep reply that I will only discuss this via email. I have one daily collection call, but crossing fingers here. (PS - IdealGelt is the only one that I have not paid off my entire loan amount - I still owe $100 to them but they will not respond to attempts to pay them off)

Three paydays and I am getting caught up on credit cards, insurance, kids allowance, and car payments. You guys rock!
