Process servers do NOT call in advance. Stay off the phone...you are being scammed.

I did call them got scared they say they are representing the ST. Armands group where I got a payday loan and defaulted I borrowed 300.00 and they say I now owe them 1100.00 this ACS litigation group says this is for late fees since june 25, 2012 and legal services from them that they are a litigation company and they will call back in 2 hours and i need to have a credit card ready to pay. I told them that St Armands was not licensed in thet state of Alabama and that i owe them only the 300.00. She just called back with e batter offer of 690.00 of the balance and said I was mailed paper work 45 days ago which is a lie and that once they serve me then I will just have to go to court there is nothing else they can do. What should i do?

Dear ACS

I hereby demand you cease and desist any and all contact with me and anyone associated with me in regards to acount #_____________, original creditor St Armands. This payday lender is unlicensed in my state of __________ and thus the contract is null and void. Any further communication from you will be taken a a violation of the FDCPA and I will be forced to sue you for those violations.

Govern yourself accordingly

This was in response to the post i made under the title settlement and the response they made and you had answered me of how i needed to handle it. Do i need to make a complaint to my Attorney Generals office, should i get a lawyer i am stilled scared they are going to try and serve me with papers to go to court that is what they threatend this morning or wage garnishment. They clamied that i defrauded St armands by getting the money and never paying it back.

ACS in definitely a scam. I have had calls from them too. Just ignore.

They have scared me so bad I am sick.

Stop being scared and making yourself sick.

These are SCAMMERS! Their job is to scare you into handing over your money. And you're letting them.

They cannot do ANYTHING to you and the BS they're feeding you is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!

The next time they call, tell them you KNOW this is a scam and you're not falling for it. Then do NOT talk to them again. Period.

I know, i know, you are right they are trying to scare me into being stupied and giving them money, the only thing i can laugh about is I am so broke that they could not get ten cents out of me right now lol so know chance of credit card or debit card numbers being given out. They just seem to know when to call me when I am down sick or worried about things then bham there they are calling threating me with court and legal fees and I fall for it.

Don't fall for it! Stay strong. When my father took out payday loans and these guys started hounding my parent's house, my mother would take out all stress of the day by cursing the person on the other line.

I have done that also when one foregin speaking person tried to get me to beleive that he was going to have me arrested I told him I had family members that were police so I would have already been contatced if that was true he demanded to know there names so I just hung up then he kepp calling me so I just cussed him for all he was and was trying to do he called back several more times and i just keep hanging up if I had a whistle I would have blown his ear drums out.
I filed a complaint with the FTC so maybe that will do something so they can not get money out of someone else who.:D

As stated before, they are pesky buggers. Simply pickup and hangup. Eventually, the calls will become less frequent.
