I had a few PDL's from 2010 that were illegal and the original loans were overpaid (based on no interest).
One of the loans was sold to various collection agencies and now is with a firm in buffalo NY that posted the balance 391.00 to my credit report. I tried to dispute the item, they responded to the credit bureau only that they had a letter validating the debt. So it has not been removed. I only received a couple of calls which I did not respond to but nothing in writing of any kind. Is there something else I can do to remove this item.
Thank You :D

Usually illegal lenders can???t report to the credit bureau
Usually illegal lenders can???t report to the credit bureaus. If they do so, then it???s a wrong activity. Contact with the credit bureaus and inform them regarding this issue.

This is totally false.
They CAN report to the credit bureaus but, you should be able to have the item removed due to the fact that the contact is invalid.
