I am from MD and sent all my docs regarding all my loans to the MD Commission of Financial Regulation. In today's mail, rec'd 2 letters from the Commission regarding Northern Resolution Group out of Amherst, NY. NRG reported their trade line on my credit report. 1st letter states that they reported it in error. Will be deleted from my cr and to check it in 45 days. If not removed, contact the Commission again and they will reinvestigate. The 2nd letter states that NRG again reported it in error and it has been removed from my CR. NRG also states that "based on our review of the applicable MD Law, our company ceased and desisted with all collection activitiess regarding MD accounts effective the beginning of August 2012. We understand the need to become licensed in the State of MD prior to our office resuming debt collection activities. Furthermore, we are also now aware of the prohibition in MD regarding the collection of accounts commonly referred to as "payday loans". If our office ultimately decides to become licensed in MD for the purpose of resuming debt collection activities we fully understand the prohibition regarding payday loans and will comply with same. " So all you fellow Marylanders out there, if being bothered by the NRG, please contact the MD Commission and they will definitely seek resolution in a very timely matter. Score one small victory for us.:p
