Mod Points Not Showing

KS mod point is working fine here. We would request you to check the changes afterwards as it generally reflects after some time, since our system takes into consideration various factors like total time spent (login and logout), activities done (both with number of postings and moderation work) and so on. So, the changes will not be same in all cases, as every day the total time spent ( login/logout ), number of postings, mod activities is different.
KS, as far as your points are concerned, can you please tell us your previous mod point that you last saw prior to the present one?

I am in the same boat, Jason. I had 655 points yesterday morning. I deleted something like 27 spam posts from the forum. I then made one post on the forum.

Today, my points total is 665--the 10 point change being for the post I made. No change for the spam deletion.

This is the way I understand it...if they are moderated you need to delete them thru the moderator panel and you get NO points. If you catch unmoderated spam in the main forum and delete them manually, you get points...although not always.

OK...just deleted 6 posts that were spam that slipped thru the filter....no points. It aint working jason.

It seems that it's a hit or miss with getting the points.. sometimes they come other times not.

I have been deleting posts daily with still no change. I have been at 11 mod points for a week or more.

Waffles, the points may take some time to get updated. So it's better to check the changes after all work is done (moderation along with posting). There may be some cache related problem also.

Thanks for your cooperation KS. When we checked it from here, the mod point system was working fine. We are waiting for Sky, SL, and OG's access details so that our tech members can conduct further test in this regard.

Mine seem to be working now, Jason.

I think there was just a lag.

Just checked my points totals and was pleased to see the total rise from 11 yesterday to 197 today. Working OK now, thanks.

From what I can see, every 1000 points equals $10. So if you have 4000 points, you have $40, etc. Jason, if I am wrong, please correct me, but this has been my experience in the past.

I'm sorry to be such a pain, Jason--but I have been deleting like crazy this weekend and my totals still aren't rising. Was there something I missed? Thanks.

The way I understand it, we do not get points for deleting thru the moderator screen....we only get points when they slip thru and we manually have to delete them.

Yeah I do not think using the mod cp grants points.

I have not been using the Mod Portal, but have been deleting the old school way. Maybe that's my problem?

We would request you to do the following ..update your browser, clear your cookies, change your password and check if you can see the changes in mod points.

That's not the scale I was talking about.

I mean:

If I delete 1 spam, how many points does that translate to?
If I post an answer in the forum, how many points?
If I post an answer in SA, how many points?

I'm asking because I have deleted around 2000 (yes, that's thousand) spam posts from the Social Answers forum over the past few days and it seems like that hasn't translated to very many points.

And, speaking of social answers, I've noticed that questions that were originally asked in the forum have been removed from the forum and moved to social answers.

Why?

My points are showing but today they are going backwards...was at 1800, then 1746 now at 1606....

I don't really watch my mod points to be honest. I think that most of our points come from when we help members through forum replies.. the mod points are very insignificant in terms of number. But mine do seem considerably low considering all the deleting I do. It's not a big deal though to me, like i said the vast majority (90%+) of points seem to come from the forum or even social chat.

You dont get points for deleting thru the mod panel...you sometimes get points for deleting spam that slips the the cracks....it is a crap shoot.

I am a single parent so I really need this money to make ends meet. Every dollar makes a difference.

Every time you post in our community, the system will give you point which you can exchange for 1 cent. This is same for both forums and social answer.
As far as mod points are concerned there are no fixed points as such. The system will take into consideration various parameters/factors like mod activity done along with number of posts made within a given time frame. It will also look into the post characters, as well. So the point distribution will not be the same every time. Also if someone is idle within a login/logout time frame, one may not earn many points even though he/she may have done some mod activities.

I'm going backwards today too.

I've posted in the forum and SA and I've also deleted several spam posts in the SA forum and some duplicate posts, edited some profanity, etc.

Earlier I had 4117 points, now I have 4036?

When we tested, the mod point was working ok. But since you are saying that you are getting negative points, I have forwarded your problem to the tech guys. They will do some testing,checking debugging, etc. But since this needs to be done live, there may be a situation where the points may get mixed up with other moderators' and we don't want this to happen. So for your convenience (in the long run), I would suggest to close the mod point system for the time being so that our tech members can look into the matter. Also, since we are on the verge of shifting to a new platform now, it would be better if we can make it live when we shift there.

It's an odd little glitch. I'll have no movement, backward movement and then forward movement all in the same day.
