Hello,

I am a current resident of central Texas since 2006.

As of current, these are all of the PayDay loans I still have pending, along with the initial loaned amount, and branch location's name in which borrowed from:

* EZ Money - $300
* *The Cash Store - $200
* *Speedy Cash - $350
* *Approved Money Center - $300
* *ACE Cash Express - $750
Great Plains Lending - $750

It should be noted that all of these loans are already in default at this time, which literally has me afraid of what may happen in the future..

Can anyone, please, assist me in a few areas to ease my mind:
1 - Are these companies licensed and/or legal in the state of TX?
2 - Per each loan/company listed, and based on their legality, what is a maximum ranged amount (including actual legally applicable fees, etc.) I should be considering as repayment.
3 - Is criminal prosecution against me for failure of payment on these loans within anyone's legal authorization at this, or any point?
4 - Where would be the best self help sort of place for me to start in my specific situation?

Thank you so much ahead of time...
Anyone that can shed light and help me out on these questions, will not only help me sleep at night, but will help me believe in a better future as well!

The only licensed lender according to the State Licensed Payday Loan Sites is Speedy Cash. All others are Illegal. Debts are civil, not criminal. You cannot be arrested. You will need to close your bank account, open a new one and do not give that info out to anyone. Click the Forums section, then click on payday loan help, then click on sticky on how to deal with unlicensed lenders. Follow every step. Do not skip. You have come to the right place for help and advice. :D

It's no problem at all!!! Don't worry about it. I've made a ton of mistakes like that before with lenders Texas is really funky, they have those CSO exemptions which make a ton of lenders legal. Thankfully this guy can rest assured he doesn't have to worry about the great plain loan for now.

How much have you paid to each, so we can help you determine how to set up plans with collections?

EZ Money - legal
The Cash Store - legal
Speedy Cash - legal
Approved Money Center - legal
ACE Cash Express - legal

Great Plains Lending - illegal tribal lender

For Great Plains, follow the advice in my signature link.

For the legal lenders, ask if they can work out a payment plan with you. If you've already defaulted, this shouldn't be that difficult.

First, I want to thank each and every one of you for responding to my query.
Second, I'm literally in shock of how many replies we're submitted, and how quickly!

Wow...

Okay, to break it down to its basics, nearly all of these loans were from the same period of time (roughly Oct. '11 - Dec. '11). Had a depressive state of mind, and blah blah blah... Bottom line I didn't care and didn't think.
Regardless, as I stated, all are currently in collections state and have not even bothers to pay a dollar on any of them whatsoever. I've changed my phone number at least once since that time, just to rid the constant collections calls... And thus, have at most spoken to a collection agency, or two, once or twice at best. One agency, the last one and time I spoke with them, claimed I now owe approximately $1,200 on what I believe was originally a $350 loan. Of course at the time of conversation they were willing to haggle me down to $600-$700 total payoff if I were to squash the debt then and there on the phone.... I havn't had a steady job in many months - wasn't gonna happen.

Bottom line is, I understand I must own up to and resolve this lingering, painful financial blunder I've foolishly concocted in my still recent past...

I am looking for a way to consolidate all of my personal loans, for the obvious ease of management amongst another things. However, aside from that, I fear that it is more possible than not that I have failed to mention, and quite frankly straight forgot about, one or two (hopefully not any more than) other personal loans through other outfitters as well.

Thanx again everyone, your replies alone make it feel a little better! :-)
