For the first time in the almost 20 years we have owned our home we are behind on our mortgage. By the time things are settled we will be 2 months behind. How soon will the mortgage company start the process. We will be completley caught up by the first of the year, but we will be running behind for another month or so. Just need some advice never been in this situation before.

As long as you are sure you will be caught up by then you can advise the bank of that. You are really not going to be foreclosed on at your current state but you really need to advise your lender of this and make good on that promise to settle it by the 1st

It is important that you get in touch with the bank and let them know that you'll be caught up by the first of the month. You must be certain on the statement you make. Your home may not be foreclosed at this point of time, but there is a need to take some immediate actions from your side.
