Did you send a voluntary wage assingment revocation?? If so, forward these liars a copy with a cease and desist letter. They are breaking the law....debts are civil, not criminal. Give a coy of off the wage assignment revocation to your payroll department.
Stop being scared!!!!

Thanks for responding. I did send one of them to my payroll person the beginning of this year but she informed me that if she got a note saying wage garnishment then there was nothing she could do about it and would have to garnish my wages. Usually they don't affect me but this one actually faxed papers to my job. None had ever did that before.

You need to tell your uneducated and knowledgeless HR person that this is a WAGE ASSIGNMENT, not a WAGE GARNISHMENT. Tell her to google what the difference is, then perhaps she'd know how to do her job.
With regard to this company, it's a scam. Give me the number for work tomorrow. It gets us through the day to call these people.

Your payroll person needs to educate themselves on the difference between garnishment which requires a judgment and a court order and a voluntary wage assignment which is strictly voluntary. She must follow the law....look up the difference as they could be held liable if they violate your revocation.

Ugh these people are relentless!!! Thankfully my hr person said she would call me before anything since they are facing paperwork!! I spoke to the guy this morning and told him to cease and desist and I would send paperwork to him stating to no longer call me and he transferred me to a mr Hamilton who proceeded to tell me that since it was federal charges and not collecting on a debt that he didn't have to listen to the cease and desist. I told him I was filing a complaint on him and after I used some probably inappropriate words he hung up.....I just wish these people would fall off the face of the planet!!!
