I just received a call from a man named Tom Littine and he states that in the morning they are going to fax a warrant to the DA for "misleading a court officer" and I had two hours to get back with him and pay $287, my question is can this be real or just a scare tactic to get me to pay. I do have a pay day loan or two out so I know I owe but I don't want to go to court or jail over it either.
What was the outcome?
This is happening to me too. They are calling my employer several times per day, making threats about having me served for criminal theft. It is the same person Thomas Litton.

If you had read any of the payday loan forum, you would have found out this is a total scam. Debts are civil, not criminal. The DA is busy enough without dealing with you not paying your payday loan.
Who did you borrow from, what state do you live in? How much did you borrow and how much have you paid back??
