Question on a TripleAC

Hello,
Several years ago (back in 2009), I had some money problems and took out a couple payday loans payed a couple payments then realized my bank account was going to be severely over drafted and closed my account.

I have been doing much better since then and have been trying to clean up my credit. I have recently been contacted by a company saying they were going to send me to court over one of these past loans. I requested documentation in writing (I have not received anything prior to this, but moved two years ago). They failed to send me anything to my email or home. They called again requesting payment and I let them I had not received anything.

Today they sent over a letter in an email, but I'm not sure if they own the debt. I am going to send a validation letter via email to them, but cannot find any information about them online. I have no objection to paying off debts owed (I took the money out after all), but would like to make sure I am paying the appropriate party.

I live in Idaho, the debt was taken out in April of 2009, from EZMoney Loans (so I'm told, i dont remember). The collectors name isnTriple AC from Staten Island, NY. Phone: 1-888-609-0890. When I first had contact with the company the woman on the line was very confused that I asked for the original contract sent to me in writing showing they owned the debt, and passed me to the 'manager.' I've just had a bad past experience from a company in India harassing me for money owed they did not own. So her acting confused sent up red flags.

Does anyone have info regarding this company? I'm not opposed paying past debts, I just want to make sure I'm paying the correct person. Thanks for any help.
