Hi, I really need to know the laws for Illinois as far as online payday loans are considered. I'm looking for the maximum loan amount, interest, etc. I need to send Anasazi LLC an email today and I want to make sure that I have all my T's crossed and I's dotted. Thanks so much!

They are an illegal tribal lender. You don't have to get too specific with them unless it came down to a matter of where they were suing you in court for the amount owed. Right now Martin A. Webb / Cash Call / Western Sky are being sued in Cook County over their deceptive loan practices and the use of tribal law is being put into question. Consumer Protection Laws in Illinois protect you, and override any agreement you unwittingly sign. Any lender that charges interest over 9% must be licensed in the state of Illinois. Anasazi LLC is not licensed. If Anasazi LLC decides to collect on this debt they are commiting a crime. You owe just principal only, not interest and fees. Are you native american?Do you live on the reservation?Oh wait...if you are a member of the tribe you could not have gotten the loan. The loan agreement sets up the borrower for failure from the onset. A bunch of greedy SOB's decided that they would try to exploit a legal loophole since it would take an act of Congress to overturn a tribe's soverignty. Guess what, it's going to happen eventually unless the tribes wise that this business model is horrid and will only do more in a few years to damage such a rich history. Not sure if Martin A. Webb owns Anasazi LLC or is affiliated in any way, but if he is you might want to see if you can join a suit in Illinois and stick it to these scumbags that take advantage of tribal rights.
