Payday loan help in California

Hello,
I got a call today from Westfield portfolio management regarding a internet payday loan i took out back in 2008 from Northstar cash.. They said I owe them $900 how they got that amount I don't know because the maximum payday loan in CA in $250.00 or it was back in 2008... Also they are now saying that because i signed the form when i got the loan they are going to garnish my wages without having to take me to court and i could be facing felony charges because of the amount owed.. Can they do this? I live in California

What a load of crock! Pay no attention to these fools. They are trying to con you. North Star is an illegal lender anyways. Ignore the calls, file complaints with the AG, CFPB, the FTC and to add some zing to it, you can include the county cops on the list.
