I have 10 payday loans outstanding right now and have fallen even farther behind then before. I had a guy call me today telling me he was with the Duval county and they were going to issue a summons if I didnt call back. I called back and talked to a lady who said she was with the state attorneys office. After all collections I owed $3200 (I only borrowed $600 between these 2 lenders, one place was the same for 2 lenders). She said I had 4 charges pending and they could stop the charges if I set up a payment plan of $832 tomorrow and $416 my next 2 pay days. I gave them my card information because I was scared but the more I thought about it, the more I questioned it. I called and put a temporary hold on my card. I didnt even have the money until tomorrow when i get paid but that would have wiped me out. The 2 PDL companies for this were shoreline and OPD. The other 8 are PlainGreen, CashJar, EZpayday cash, Fireside cash, 247 Green street, Ameriloan, Discount Advances, and United Cash loans. Can you tell me if these are legal or illegal in Florida and if the charges of check fraud and bank fraud could be legit? It seemed so real but I guess collection agencies will say anything to get the money and way more then I even owe. Thanks so much for your help.

Do not give them any money! A legal lender or CA wouldn't call you on the phone and threaten you with being served if you didn't pay up immediately. Sounds like a scam. Many of your loans are illegal. Wait until someone more knowledgeable answers your questions. I do know that Cash Jar, Ameriloan, Plain Green, 247 Green Street are illegal just about everywhere. Not sure about the others, though. Remember to never pay someone over the phone, ask for debt verification. Illegal lenders, and illegal CA's will lie through their teeth to get you to pay.

All the lenders you listed here are illegal. Do not give them a single cent. Talk to your card issuer and have your account information changed immediately. It is never a good idea to give away sensitive information like your credit card number or your SSN over the phone. You never know who you are talking to.

Another thing, debts are civil, you cannot be pressed with criminal charges like check/wire fraud or arrested for failing to repay a debt. Moreover, legitimate process servers do not call you before they come in to serve you.

I just talked to the same lady that I talked to yesterday who said she never said anything about a district attorney when she did, told me that I do have a court summons and she would see me in court. Yesterday she clearly said state attorney and today she is saying she said attorney. Regardless, are you positive that I can't be charged? She is saying I can because I took out bank loans and haven't repaid them yet.
