Yes i have been threatened by someone claiming to be from the california state police saying that if i dont pay almost 3000.00 dollars back for a 300.00 dollar loan i defaulted on when i lost my job they are going to arrest me. Can they arreat me for non payment and can they make me pay back that much money?

Do you have the phone number they called from? I would be reporting them to your local police department for impersonation, which is a crime.
Their threats are meaningless...debt are civil, not criminal.
