I just got the weirdest phone call from a fast-talking woman who mentioned an old pay day loan from 2007. She was talking so fast I don't think she even mentioned her name and I couldn't even understand the company name she was calling from. She called from a blocked number. Asked about my old bank account that was now closed and eanted to know where to get a hold of me and what county I lived in to contact the court system here. Then she thereatened to take me to court and sue me. I told her go ahead I don't have any money. She then told me I had just verfied owing the debt AND then said I would be taken to court before a judge AND that the whole conversation had jyst been recorded. I tried to ask questions but she hung up on me. I don't know who this person was barely heard the company name CDC? She also mentioned that I had been contacted before but had been non-compliant. All I can recall was a series of weird voice:confused:mail messages talking about urgent business and a 1-800 number. Wtf? shouldn't the statute of limitations be expired on a payday loan in Arizona?

Thank you for the responses. It was scary. Where do they get my number anyway? It can be stressful to get a phone call like that when I'm unemployed and was recently hospitalized for health problems. I wish I could afford to pay off all my debts with a higher paying job. Having old debts feels like a ball and chain on my ankle. I'm a poor student struggling to live and study. I hope one day I can build credit, be able to buy myself a car or house, or help my family whenever they need help. It kills me some days. I'm a 30 year old student limited by uneducated, poor economic decisions I made in my early twenties. Life is not much better than old English debtor's prisons. I feel like I stunted my own personal growth because of debt. My quality of life is not bad and I am thankful for all I have but I wish I had more to show for my life. I want to provide more, give more and one day be able to save for the future.

Thank God that you're not too late to realize your mistakes and act accordingly. It is good to have big plans, but staying on the ground is equally important or you might see yourself going under water all over again. You may not be presented with an opportunity to work on your mistakes next time. Wish you luck anyway! :)
