When I posted earlier about my debt with LVNV(Sears),I may not have made myself clear. We opened this account in 1982 and made purchases. We have not made purchases for at least 15 years, but because of making minimum payments(lesson learned) and horrible fees and finance charges, we have been making payments all these years. And yes, we were late and skipped payments(another lesson learned) but have been paying all these years. The last payment to Sears was 12-05, LVNV bought it late Jan. 06.,and are threatening wage garnishment when they get a judgement. Hope this clears this up. Thanks all for your help

Bossy, this account opened up long time ago but due to lack of knowledge, you are now paying for your mistakes. I can feel the pain here. Needless to mention, collection agencies are tough to deal with. You will end up paying enormous charges and they are hoping for that only. If it suits you, take a consolidation program and involve a consultant in this process. He will negotiate for a lower amount.
