credit card threatening garnishment of earnings

I have 15k cc debt with Wellsfago that I have had since 1999. I recently in the last few months couldnt make the full payment. They even when I tried to submitt partial payment 300-400 a month., they still wanted 800 all of sudden for a payment. So I called them because this week I couldnt make a partial paymnet. I offered them a lump sum but they threatend to garnish and was already being sent to law/collections to do so. HELP what should I do I have paid atleast half of the payment till last week. and tried to negotiate my monthly payment down several times. they wont budge

If you cannot make the $800 payment, how are you gonna come up with a large settlement amount??
They are under no obligation to settle or reduce your payments.....if you have been making partial payments for 6 months, they are probably ready to charge you off and send you to collections.
Do you have a source of settlement funds?? You are probably looking at needing $8-10K to settle.
