A collection agency for a medical bill is charging me interest, is that lawful?

If the account has been assigned by the orignal credtor, the credtor is charging you the interest, not the CA. Have you read the financial agreement page you sign when you go to a health care provider?? It specifies exactly what you will be charged if you do not pay the bill on the day the service is rendered.
