Legal Action against Spectrum Billing Services

After reading through this forum, I've seen this company come up a few times... and in several areas throughout the internet.

Here's an example of one of these threads:

I've also dealt with this company and recently sent a certified letter to SPS and denied all claims to the debt. I also sent the exact same letter to the FTC.

They don't care who owes the debt as long as they get paid. I spoke with a Candice, who is extremely pushy, disrespectful and also made the same claims that were shown throughout previous thread: threatening to report me for credit card theft, threatening to call my wife and family, etc. If they continue to pursue, I will sue.

Frankly, I'm looking forward to it after reading everything on here. I'm sure with all their illegal actions and harassment they practice, we can and should put together a class action lawsuit.

Questions for the community:
1) Has any taken legal action against this company? Any advice?
2) Based on the numerous complaints and examples of illegal actions, a class action law suit seems like a valid idea. How do we get this started?

Really the only one who benefits from a class action suit are the attorneys.

Send them a cease and desist....it they violate that, collect $1000

Cease and desist letter is in process, but that's not the point.

I would gladly pass up $1,000 if it meant these kind of companies were either put out of business or were financially punished enough for their illegal activities. I've already spent too much time dealing with this company regarding false and fraudulent claims of debt, not to mention the headache, stress, etc it has caused me and my family.

$1,000 means nothing to me given the situation.

In fact, given all the complaints, I'm sure they have a line item on their financial statements to deal with these kind of issues. More then likely it's an expected cost of business for them.

They need something to permanently change their modus operandi. The only way to do that is make it financially worthwhile.

Again, I'll ask the community:
1) Has anyone taken legal action against this company?
2) For collection agencies (or companies posing as collection agencies), how do we get a class action law suit started?
