garnishments against my retirement check

Can a credit card company/ medical garnish my monthly retirement check which is direct deposited into my checking account? Also, I receive Social Security each month by direct deposit. Can they get into my checking account & take this money?
Social security is not
Social security is not garnishable....pensions and other incomes are.
If they get a judgment against you, they could levy your bank account.
