Got into the internet PDL trap. Short story my bank account closed due to being overdrawn. As far as I know...four years later....all loans are paid. However I recently started getting voicemails at work from 877-881-0895 from a lady stating she had a case number and needed a pre trial statement from me for a case against me for intent to defraud a financial institution. I call back...now one answers. If I had a loan that hadn't been paid do I still owe anything and if so how do I know ?

Wouldn't they have had to mail something to me before calling and telling me I am at the legal level if I truly had a debt?

I think you misunderstood stevebarris - He said to ignore them and report them because they are a scam more than likely... Even if you did owe Loans are civil not criminal.. They only way to know for sure what they are calling about is to take a call, don't acknowledge anything on the phone with them, ask for and address that you can send them a request for debt validation and tell them that you will look into it, that you don't owe this debt.. then if they give you an address which is unlikely send them a request for debt validation CMRRR - try this link with the original post by waffles.. http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/thread184286.html
