Meyer, Kahn & Associates

I received a call from my Employer stating that they received a faxed employment verification from Meyer, Kahn & Associates. I asked my Employer to fax it to me. Meyer, Kahn & Associates is requesting my dates of employment, position, salary, next scheduled pay dates and if I am currently being garnished. I called the (888)810-9096 and was directed a a voicemail that announced that I had reached the "claims department". I didn't receive a call back so I tried calling in the morning. A woman named Tasha answered the same name on the fax cover sheet. She stated that there was a problem with their voicemail system She didn't answer the phone with the company name. She named the original accounts but didn't give me seperate dollar amounts just a total of $1500 and some change then put me on hold to speak with her advisors. She came back and stated that she would could reduce it to $1150 if I paid $150 today and $275 a month until the account is paid off. I've had scam calls before but never had a company fax an employment verification to my job. Is this a legitimate company and can the company still be a scam although they have access and would fax my Employer? Please advise.
They are scammer
I think this is a scam. Don’t worry they can’t do anything. Stay away from them. File a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC if required.
