Help...not sure where to begin but I am drowning. I am going to stop ACH and then close account before my next payday.

National $600
Integrity $620
Nationwide $600
Sure Adv. $ 826
Cash Dir Express $625
MyPayDayLoan $750
VIP $450
Zip It $500
Cash Smart $550

I live in Indiana. Please help me if possible. Thank you.

I opened another account at the same bank.  They are not linked...I actually already had another account at another bank that has one PDL attached to it.  I am closing that one tomorrow because I don't know who is connected to who!!  I owe them and will pay them off in two payments.  I opened it at the same bank because she thought she could help me get some money back and was being so nice to me.  And if I wasn't their custumer anymore, I didn't think she would help me.  I think I will close that account with them eventually.  But it is safe for now.

I got a phone call from work today from Total Recovery Systems. It had a local phone number and I didn't think anything about it when the man on the phone asked for me.
He was calling for VIP and said my social was ready to take a hit for non payment of a loan. I should have hung up....I have been a good student, studied these pages for hours....I did tell him I had sent them a c&d and I would need their license number to verify with IDFS. He then started getting a little nasty so I just hung up. Do I send this company a c&d or will they just ignore it? Should I report them to the Indiana AG? I don't like them messing with my job......They can't really do anything can they????

As I have been told many times on here - relax and breathe, in a short time it will be much easier and you will wonder why you ever let it stress you at all...

I would just wait and see if they call again.. but you have an email stating PIF - and they can't get into your bank account, they next time the CA calls - tell them they are not allowed to call you at work and you have proof that the account is paid in full.. end of story.. if they try to sue - which I doubt will ever happen - you again have an email showing paid in full.

Tell them that you are revoking ACH authorizations and that you wish to put your current account on deposit only due to being compromised - hard blocked - You wish to open a new account in no way linked to the old account.. You need to talk to a manager not a teller.. Why would they not close your old account? You can always open another account at a different bank...

Good idea to close out that one tomorrow.. And staying there makes sense - also since you have already revoked ACH authorization and showed the bank this as well, if they were to let one go through they would be liable.. Keep us posted on the progress.

It is not unusual for them to do that - many illegal lenders, especially ones operating illegally on US soil (say some Las Vegas/Delaware illegal) to just 'write off' or 'forgive' your balance instead of selling it to collections once they know you know they are illegal.

You should request a debt validation with payment history, tell them if they are in fact collecting for an illegal offshore lender, not licensed in your state to do business and you had informed them of that.. Not to mention didn't you get an email from them thanking you for your final payment of like $520? I wouldn't let it bother me at all......

Everyday it feels like something gets accomplished but something else to do.  Changed my payroll direct deposit 2 pay periods in a row.   Closed one bank account two weeks ago...another one tomorrow...opened a new one...send the letters....Some days you feel like you have made progress....some days you are still living in fear.  Like today, I got something in the mail from the 'audit' department.  My hands were shaking and my mond was racing.  It was my new debit card.  Relief... Many ups and downs.  Breaking away from the PDL cycle and getting my life back will be amazing!!

Pretty much the nicest thing they have been called is scum. He said I didn't pay anything on the loan, which wasn't true. I told him I was looking for a collection company to go after VIP for the money they owe me. He asked if I had a lot of pdls. I said I didn't have any. I was having it too good!!! But I knew the calls would start.

I do feel like I am slowly regaining control. The bank wouldn't do disputes, but they are doing something else for any payments I made beyond the principle from the last loan date. I got a personal loan and paid many of them off the end of October, so it is not much. I tried...and I will move on. My goal now will be to get as many PIF as possible. It has been a week today since I closed my account. It will take me quite awhile to catch my bills up completely. But this is much better than figuring out what new pdl I can get to pay some bills because the other pdls took my check.....all smiley faces!!

Should I wait to hear from them again or call them? I do not have an email for the collection company. Yes, I did get an email from VIP two weeks ago and today, both thanking me for PIF. When I researched TRS found that they have a few different offices.

I went to different bank branch today and the manager there was very nice and worked with me.  She felt the safest thing to do was to close the account and open a new one, which we did.  Friday is when the payments will begin to hit the closed account.  Do I wait for them to contact before sending the C&D letter, or should I go ahead and email it on Friday?

Can the bank reverse any of the debits from the PDL's?

Friday is the first day I will be missing these payments. I looked on the list for Indiana and I am assuming that all of these lenders are illegal because they were not listed. If anyone could verify I would so appreciate it. So, closed account, emailed letters to revoke ACH. I have paid much more than borrowed on all of these. Will correspond by email or postal mail only with lenders...Tomorrow I will contact the AG. Are my bases covered? Never again!National $600Integrity $620Nationwide

National $600; Integrity $620; Nationwide $600; Sure Adv. $ 826; Cash Dir Express $625; MyPayDayLoan $750; VIP $450;

I answered this in your other post..Please don't double post - easier to keep all in one thread...

  • National $600 - Not enough info to find - Is there more to the name?
  • Integrity $620 - Licensed in Delaware - check to see if licensed to lend in Indiana
  • Nationwide $600 - Offshore - Illegal - Paul’s Avenue, Kingstown St. Vincent & The Grenadines
  • Sure Adv. $ 826 Licensed in Delaware - check to see if licensed to lend in Indiana
  • Cash Dir Express $625 - Licensed in Delaware - check to see if licensed to lend in Indiana
  • MyPayDayLoan $750 - Offshore Illegal -Costa Rico
  • VIP $450 - Offshore Illegal - Charlestown, Nevis West Indies
  • Zip It $500 - couldn't find website - is this the full name?
  • Cash Smart $550 - Offshore - Illegal - Australia
How much have you paid to each?

OMG Now I am really nervous about the Delaware loans...Cash Smart is actually Cash Cure.  I do know in Indiana the max is $550, and $15 per $100 and they didn't follow that.  I have had several loans with most of them and tried to pay them off, but couldn't pay my bills so I would reloan..I checked and Zip It is Zip19 on my bank statement.  If they are not listed on the site for Indiana, they are not legal?

don't be nervous - you are fine .you don't live in Delaware and you didn't drive there to borrow? . If your bank account is secure you will be fine.. the other is closed down and the new is not linked to the old.. so your money will be safe.. If they are not licensed to lend in Indiana not going to be a problem.. they will try to tell you all kinds of things.. keep it to email and mail conversations only.. not on the phone.. if they send  you something don't panic, just ask one of us... we have all been through this..

I was surprised by that as well, considering the first branch I went to wouldn't even close my account.  I still have a very long road to go down.  I have others PDL's wanting to set up payment plans.  All but one I have paid way over the borrowed amount.  When they contact me, I will set up a payment plan.  The rest of them owe me.  I will call my bank tomorrow and keep you posted.  Not sure since the account is closed how that will work.  Thanks for all of the help and support.
