and another one down...
another one bites the dust
hey-------

Opps sorry!! got lost in the 80s there for a second. LOL Got an email from Experian earlier this evening on MY 'online' report dispute. They also show an update on two of the accounts that Equifax had just just recently updated on! Two accounts that were 'charge offs', have been now upgraded to 'pays as agrees'. One says 'was charge off no longer is-pays as agrees'(but I also paid it off this week so I will get a PAID as agreed now!!!) and the other just says 'open, pays as agrees' (its home depot)!! AND they completely deleted one collection agency!!!!!! The ONLY collection agency on my report and they deleted it!!!!! (now I have to sort through my paper trail and find out what I said that made them take it off so I can approach the other two bureaus and get them to also take it off...LOL)
You have to be determined People. thats the answer to this, dedication and determination. make up your mind you're going to do, and 'get 'er done'!!!!!
Shirley

Progress!! That's what it's all about!!! MAJOR hugs for you!! Can you refresh my memory with the story behind the collection agency that they deleted? I can't remember your whole situation when I try to remember mine too! :)

Your situation gives me so much hope. You have no idea!!! Big sigh of relief for you, and more inspiration for me :) Congrats!!! If you weren't married, I would wish for you a date with Apolo Anton Ohno...I've been in love with him for so long now :) LOL!

~Mary :)

thanks guys for the encouragement. I'm feeling pretty good right now, but don't want to get over confident and put my guard down, I still have work to do! In fact, just as we speak, I am sitting here typing out my THIRD letter to collection agencies trying to get them to talk to me and give me the information I requested on my accounts. More for my paper trail and more proof that I am trying to take care of these debts. But between original creditor and collection agencies, they have me chasing my tail. LOL!! I've said this before but it reminds me when I was a kid and would ask my mama if I could go to the movies and she would say ask your daddy, so I'd go ask my daddy, he'd say go ask your mama....and on and on like that! LOL thanks again guys!!! I really appreciate your kind words. They really keep me going! hugs, shirley

How do you get chargeoffs back to pays as agrees status? I wold like to pay off a car loan that is past SOL and off CR because of my security rank at job, but don't want Paid charge off for another seven years. On another forum someone said if I pay it off even though it is not on CR they will put back on? Didn't know it was possible to go to pays as agreed?

globetrotter, looking at the present scenario, your car loan is past the statutes and off the credit report. This means that the account is past the 7 years period. If you don't pay anything, this account won't appear in the file but your creditors might take actions against you for getting their money. You will have to tackle them in their way.

Now, if you want to pay back the amount, it might appear in your file for a certain period of time till the account is paid off. But if you default in making the payment once again, the stay will be negatively elongated. If you have paid it in one single payment, it will be reported for a while and then will be removed. Give your thought how you want to handle this situation. Discuss further if that can help you in your decision making.

John,
The company RAB faxed me a settlement in full offer which I would have to pay 50 percent, so I am saving 8K, of course will have to pay the taxes on the forgiven part but seems the best I can do at this point. I have 4 days to do it. There is no way I can pay the whole balance and don't think I would get that from the OC even. Normally I dont like to deal with them at all, but this was about the most professional collector I dealt with. Basically they want to settle due to the age of the account. Will give a black mark if goes back on credit, but have to settle due to employement situation. overseas I get my house, utilies, and everything else paid for three more years, so will have to take the hit here.
