While trying to delete crap in the mod panel I am getting this message... An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator..


I must have just deleted over 200 posts....

I HATE THIS BUILD.

Spam pattern in showing most of these posts have links. So we are planning to disallow links for Unregistered posters. If any one wants to add links in their post, he/she must Register.
Moreover we are also working on auto lock of old threads.
We have also added a new post Editor box where features which were not working before will be working in this new editor.

Where did the "posts since last visit" go?. Good grief. I take some time off and the whole site goes haywire.

Jason, is it really worth it? This new system doesn't work plain and simple.

It's all spam. Every single new thread reply is a spammer advertising some crap. The only thread I could find that is not spam is this -

We're talking about deleting threads, not posts. We will have to wait for the posts since last visit in order to do that.

The majority of this spam could easily be eliminated by requiring registration.  You are the only one Jason who has a hang up on this issue.  Everywhere on the internet you have to register....it is usually simple and easy.  Nobody thinks twice about it..it is a fact of technology life.  I dont see anyone having an issue on the other boards and they are getting major traffic.  We are not....the spammers are having a field day on this site.

Everything is partially visible - the entire site. I can't open any threads without there being ten spam replies. Really this new platform is defective in so many ways and I don't think it should've gone live for a few more months. It's literally impossible to use.

The site is totally useless, non user friendly and should never have gone live without proper testing. The only posters are spammers (I have answered maybe 2 questions since this site went live). The spam is everywhere.....are you gonna go into every post one by one and delete them one by one?? I sure as hell wont and neither will the other mods. Only 12 posts were available to be deleted via the mod panel this morning....I cant and wont count how many spam posts were not caught.

Peeked at Twitter and Good Nelly's totally uniformative tweets. More people unfollowing than following.

11. When answering questions, you cannot quote a previous part of a question...there is no option to do so.
12.  We have the option to BOLD, italic etc...but they are NOT working!  I just spent time BOLDING in lieu of quoting, spacing out the answers for ease of reading and understand....it all ended up as one big paragraph with none of the formatting I had done.

So to make a list, we have issues in the following areas:

1. Can't move posts to correct places.
2. Posts not listed in proper date order.
3. Old posts still on site, leading to frustration.
4. Not being notified of private messages.
5. Can't reply/delete in some areas.

I still think that there has to be a way of archiving any pre-2012 posts, This way, we won't have to deal with posts that are 8 years old popping up in current threads.

There is so much spam on this new version!!! The captcha system is not stopping it. Those stupid ghost stories are pouring in too. Please for the love of god can we return to the old system!!

Waffles look for  Edit button (you will find it at the top - above Manage post) (View  Edit ). Once you  click on the Edit button, at the bottom of the post you will find three buttons (Save Preview Delete)
If you click on the delete button you will be able to delete the thread.

Jason, how much worse does this have to get?  If you identify specific posts--i.e., combinations of letters--as spam, youre wau overworking this.  Get rid of some and much more just shows up!  How much traffic do we need to lose here??

Or how about going back to the old site until this new version is perfected, or at least WORKABLE.

KS you can delete multiple spams at one go itself just like before. Select the spam posts (use check box) and click on Manage post which you will find on the top section i.e below the View Button.
We will be working on the post since last visit section too.

Btw, Signatures are visible again.

The spam is still ridiculous....they post it faster than I can delete it....and they are not being caught so you cannot delete them via the mod panel.

Steps taken to reduce spams

We have banned many spam ip addresses to restrict spam

We have made a database of spam texts

We have allowed multiple selection of spam posts so that they can be deleted at one go.
(Just tick on the check box and click on Delete Selected posts from Manage Posts section

We will update as we keep on improving our forum structure. So please bear with us.

Yup - I wasn't kidding when I said that stupid pay your bill story was the only post I found that wasn't advertising for some Russian pharmaceutical or whatever other crap we get.

Jason - we really have to go back to the old version. The site is failing - no one is posting.

Also....we are not notified that there are private messages.  And quite frankly, I am not wasting time answering private messages from potential posters who are having difficulting posting and have obviously moved. 

Maybe you have noticed that Paul is gone  (he had to email me) and ohiogal is absent too. 

I know - that's not what I was saying. I was saying it's hard to delete multiple threads.

I actually got an email from someone today that found me on here and is asking for help in dealing with a debt collector that I dealt with before. People dont even want to post here because its a giant train wreck.

Yup - same here. I've been getting tons of PMs from people asking for help and the common statement has been "the site doesn't work" - in fact the PMs themselves really don't work.
