hello, a few weeks ago i was receiving calls from a company called Mirand. i asked them for license number etc etc, they never provided me one, and when i said i never received a collection letter from them they insited i did...

they claim to be representing the seven group for a payday loan that i owe $350.

for about 2 weeks the calls stopped i though they finally gave up since i told them i paid it off via seven group, well last night i was going through my mail and i got a letter from Mirand stating i owed them $350 and if i didnt respond to them within 30 days they would proceed by other means of collection.

now funny part is i put a red flag on my credit report, i also checked my credit report and there is nothing from seven group OR Mirand... so is this a scam? does anyone have any information? what should i/ciould i do?

There is no law requiring them to give you a license number. When I worked collections (which was for almost 10 years) I had no clue what the numbers were. If a debtor wanted them, they could go to the state lookup and find it there.

seven group is an offshore illegal lender.so i doubt this place is legit.last thing soaplady is absolutely right.nobody is required to provide license.
