I am having bad credit. How can i apply for an auto loan?

How bad is your credit??

How bad is your credit?? Have you tried locally thru dealerships? Buy here, pay here lots?? We need more information.

There are plenty of sub-prime lenders

There are quite a few sub-prime lenders out there that auto dealers work with. Look for dealers advertising guaranteed credit approval and go from there.
