Suing for check fraud???

VIP has to be one of the nastiest people to get off your back. I had followed all steps. Closed account. Sent val of debt letter. Ive been contacted a few times by phone but this last one is the most nerve rattling..... this happened yesterday.
First, they called me on my cell (unavailable) and left a message from Rachel Turner at some place called …grrr it’s on a note at home. The woman said I was being sued on 3 counts of check fraud and possible jail time. Then I got a call from the same woman at work. My coworker answered and when I took the call she hung up. Then about 10 minutes later I got a call at work from a man named Leroy Johnson who told my co-worker that he was from Franklin County which is the County I reside in. He said, Leroy Johnson from Capital Litigation....something. When I questioned why he said he was from Franklin County he said yes, the summons will come from Franklin County...I said, "no, you said you were FROM Franklin County..." REDICULOUS>>>
Bottom line, I told them I never received validation of debt and he said it's too late for that, now it's in the process of becoming a law suit for check fraud. And that they would be at my work with a summons unless I paid on the phone. Then he kept trying to get me to say that I didn't pay a debt that I owed. I never said anything. Last thing he said was, "Good luck in Court."
I'm in contact with the AG Lisa Madigan's office in Il. I just need some reassurance. The whole conversation and process in which they called me was completely shady. I don't think I've ever heard anyone here talk about these bottom feeders claim they would sue for Check Fraud...Please tell me this is just another scare tactic.......Im sort of not worried but Im working and it's so hard to concentrate at work and do research on my own on dealing with pdl's.
Any input? Anybody have this happen? What was your outcome? Thanks........
