Well, one of my payday lenders actually sent me an itemized statement in the mail today. They have knocked off all finance charges and nsf fees. A good way to start off the new week. I got another one to break down and accept first payment through T & C as paid in full. I was seeking a refund because I had triple paid the amount of the loan. I'll take it though. :D

It seems like that is what this forum is all about, progress!!

Well said Merry :D

Mishele, good to see that things are going in your favor ultimately. You might have some problem with one or two lenders, but I'm sure you will be able to pay off the lions portion meanwhile and that is obviously a good sign. Keep us posted.

Great to hear your luck with those payday loans Mishele,I have now paid off Quickpayday, and two more payments to payday ok and they will be payed off.The only one that is giving me a hard time is GECC(cashdirectnow)they are still adding interest and dont want to work with the consolidation people. This is the one that I have paid the most interest, over $2500 in interest from renewing a $600 loan all of last year, you think they would give me a break.I have 9 total accounts in consolidation,4 payday loans and 5 credit cards, and only two not working with me.HSBC is the worst of them all.But I am determined to get them paid off,its just hard since they keep adding high interest and fees,so my little payment isnt making any kind of dent,my balance just keeps getting higher. But I will continue to have happy thoughts, since 7 of my 9 debts are coming down very nicely.
Goodnite to ALL!!!!!!
Debbie

Hi Debbie (or should I say goodnight?!)

I bet that given time, GECC will start cooperating. I think I have heard of this before, payday loan folks being stubborn with the consolidation folks. But then again, I am exhausted and I don't know what I'm typing. Goodnight!!

I have GECC on my debt consolidation program as well. They keep adding interest to my account as well. They have only received one payment thus far, second payment should go out soon. They are accepting payments, that's not the issue. I've disputed the charges on my own but that was not good enough. They stated that I had to dispute the charges through T &C then also turned me over to a collection agency. I have to send a validation letter to the CA sometime soon. It's funny how they love to make people run in circles. It can be frustrating but it's worth the effort. Stan, I will surely try to get something more from Sonic. I was just happy to get the e-mail. Twokid, I'll keep you updated on my progress with GECC. I think I'm breaking new ground with these companies. I think after they receive a few payments, some of the interest fees might drop. I need to check on their license in my state and theirs and go from there. Jessi, how was the cake? LOL! I had a big piece of german chocolate myself last night. :)

Each and everyone of you should be proud of your success in handling those evil payaday loans. I too am proud of all of you. Way to go, You all rock.

Two Kid, with is HSBC.. is that household bank> if so, dispute all interest and fees until thet itemize how it was calculated and t you have had a chance to make sure that it was done in compliance with the card agreement.

I'm not going to back off until there is more regulation with online payday lenders. It's ridiculous what people have to go through to attempt to pay a debt with these people. I'm trying to find out if there is something more that I can do in my state right now. I would like to see them banned all together, online ones of course. The fun thing for me is to see the lender get a little nervous because I know my rights now. I won't be the victim anymore. It's taken a lot of time for me to do the research and such, so I've spent some time away from family because of it. When my husband found out about Sonic Payday, he gave me a big hug and told me how proud he was of me. He said maybe I needed to go through this to make things happen and help others who are in the same situation as I am. God blessed me with an understanding man. I had a lot of payday lenders on my program and have dealt with a lot in the past. If you guys have question, feel free to pm me and I'll do the best I can to help you. Just remember that with each passing day, it gets a little bit better. And you get cake too LOL!

Mishele - you said it all there. Its all about how much you know and how much they think you know. Because they know what they are doing in their collection practices is not legal.

Since I send that one e-mail we PM'd about to QP I have not heard from them except for a couple of phone messages and they have not even called in a few weeks. Used to call everyday. Even at work.

Needless to say they never sent proof of debt in the mail.

Add to that list to search for any past, current or pending legal action against them in any State and use that against them.

Jessi - Cake sounds great but I have kind of been eating the house down the past few days. On my list of things I have been temporarly doing w/o is my Gym membership.
