So much has happened since I've been on here. I managed to repair my credit. However, after I retired 10/1/2012 my creep of a husband served divorce papers on me in November. (Guess he couldn't stand me being home all day LOL). Anyway divorce should be final in June but I've been struggling as I've had to move out of the house. I signed over the house to preserve my Pension to which he was entitled half. I would not have been able to live. I am facing filing Bankruptcy. Saw an attorney yesterday and I'm good to go, except I might have to file Ch 13. Can anyone tell me what to expect without my having to go through numerous posts here. And I feel proud that I never turned to payday loans to get me through, thanks to the help I received here.

I think it depends on the state. I know if you have a pension from the government (state or federal) it can't be garnished/levied but I think some states protect private pensions.

Private pensions are not protected, but public pensions are. I was a state worker in NJ and now receive a monthly pension plus social security.
