AMC RECOVERIES?

Hi All,
I keep getting a call from this guy at my job. I just pick up and tell him that im not in today (i pretend to be someone else). He gets kind of nasty - but i can deal with that. I looked up the # they are calling me from and it comes up with people complaining about the debt collector. Apparently its for a collection agency called AMC Recoveries. I do have a couple of PDL's that are outstanding -i live in new york. Some companies want the whole amount including the finance fees and late charges. i wont budge and am only willing to pay the principal. Is AMC legit? - i saw on the internet that they collect for Advance me Today - which i dont/didnt have a loan with...im pretty sure its not the only company they collect for....but since PDL's are illegal in my state - i want to be sure about this collection comp. does anyone know if they are legit...

Call him back from another phone and verify who and what he is calling for. Mail and fax cease and desist letters.
Dear AMC...I hereby demand you cease and desist any and all contact with me and anyone associated with me in regards to account #___________, original creditor ________________. Payday loans are prohibited in my state of New York and as such the loan docs are null and void. Legally I owe nothing. Should you choose to violate this cease and desist I will happily pursue you for damages under the FDCPA.
Govern yourself accordingly.
You can email the PDL and tell them you will only pay principal to them via money order. If they refuse, they get nothing.
