I have 9 loans and when i took them out i was going to repay them. Situations changed and i can not afford to pay them. i have stopped ACH on my accouns and now one says they have filed a civil judgement againsit me. I am in Maryland. I need advice.

Payday loans are illegal in MD with the exception of CASHNet USA. They are considered a CSO and are legal. On this site, click on the link on how to deal with unlicensed lenders, follow every step, do not skip. You may also want to contact the Maryland Commission of Financial Regulation, 500 North Calvert Street, Room 402, Baltimore, MD. 21202, 410-230-6100, finreg@dllr.state.md.us. They along with this great site will help you. Also, register with the forum so that you can see replies to your questions. Keep us posted on your progress and just to let you know I am from MD also and have been in the same situation as you. Good luck!

Payday lending is prohibited in Maryland. That means all lenders in this state are illegal. You owe them nothing more than the principal. Don’t worry mate….they can’t file a lawsuit against you. They are just trying to scare you. Close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account.
