Update on NJ with Western Sky
Date: Mon, 06/10/2013 - 10:45
I filled a complaint with the Banking and Insurance Department for the State of New Jersey a couple of weeks ago, and just received a phone call from an Investigator with the Banking Department.
I filled a complaint against Western Sky/Cash Call. He told me to do exactly what is stated over and over on this website. Pay the principal back on my schedule, via Postal Money Order, keep track of the payments, pay it off, and be done with it. He said that they will try to harass, remind them of the cease and desist and file complaints with the FTC, he said they will try to ding credit reports, he said to fight those with the credit reporting companies. He said that there is absolutely NOTHING they can do, they can not arrest, they can not garnish, etc. I have read that here, but to hear it first hand from the State that I live in is reassuring. He joked and said, just stay out of "their nation".
The investigator did say that there will be an upcoming complaint filed by the State of New Jersey's Attorney General, similar to what Massachusetts did, against Western Sky/Cash Call, the State of NJ is focusing on them, as they are most "arrogant" company that the State has dealt with. He felt that this complaint will be filed in the next couple of weeks, though he did say that he thought it would have been filed by now. Any complaint that is received by the Banking Department automatically gets forwarded to the Attorney General's office, to boost their case.
