Do you have proof of what they said? A recording?? Did they say this to someone at your office or leave it on voice mail? Generally consumer cases like this are taken on contingency, which means they take part of the settlement.

Yes, Soaplady They told my boss they were sending the sheriff. They called her after I told them to go ahead and send them....I explained to my boss what was going on and she told them not to call anymore...I would think they broke the law right then and there..
I won't answer the calls anymore, and my boss said if they call again she will file a harassment complaint with the police dept.

I just got off the phone with the legal assistant, she took down all my information, and is forwarding it to the proper attorney to review the case. I will update after I hear from the attorney.

I am updating this post..The lawyer is still reviewing my case. This morning I sent a C&D to National Credit Adjusters, and filed a complaint with the FTC. They left a voice mail on my phone with the same crap that they would take legal action and serve me..yeah right..when pigs fly. I have a written record of every time they have called, my next step is to buy a whistle...maybe then they will get the message.

Do you have proof of the cease and desist letter? Did you sent it certified mail return receipt requested?? Fax them a copy of the cease and desist, quoting the certified mail receipt number.

Yes, Soaplady, I have the voice mail saved, and I sent the letter certified with return receipt..Lady at the post office said they will receive it on Monday. I do not have a fax number for them, as I don't want to answer their calls.
