I seem to be unable to post a new thread like the rest of the folks here. Thanks to you all I am headed out of the payday loan trap! I have numerous loans and did research here to find out which ones were legal and which were not. (I am located in Texas)
So far, I have:
-Stopped direct deposit on my paycheck (which means I should be going to pick up a paper check tomorrow. They said that's what's going to happen but fingers crossed there are no computer glitches!)
-Closed my bank account. Unfortunately, it's BofA and they're notorious for resurrecting dead accounts if something hits them. I've read that they stopped the practice last year, but who knows.
-Opened a new account at a different bank.
-Contacted all of my (legal) lenders and set up payment arrangements with the ones who are able to do that before the account goes to collections.
Here's my question: my two illegal lenders are Ameriloan and United Cash Loans. I have a pretty long history with them, and research on this site tells me that since I don't have to pay interest on these loans, it's possible that due to the amount I've overpaid from previous loans, I may not have to pay the current ones. The only problem is, I don't know how to access my loan history. Their website only shows me the current loan. Does anyone have any thoughts before I start sending emails/letters?

because I can't find the button to start a new thread :), Iam just hitting reply here...I need some advice about CC/Ws. I have not paid mine or my husband's account since the end of last year and beginning of this year respectively. I heard nothing from them until this past week with an offer by email on my husband's account, which was actually paid the most recent. I know to ignore the offers from what I have read here, previously, but what else should I send to them refusing to pay. I have overpaid the original loan amount on both accounts. I'm looking through my paperwork, and I only see that I sent a do not contact me, references, etc., letter. I don't know if I ever sent the "illegal" loan paperwork to them. Should I do this now, even if done previously. I could have lost it, but I'm not sure. Suggestions, anyone? I have successfully worked with everyone, except CC/WS. Thanks so much for all the advice given on these boards!!!!

@ crazycatlady - So far look right on track for where you should be with bank account and legal lenders - did any of them give you trouble? I would take the total borrowed all loans from both and deduct all payments made to date total - subtract and that is what you more than likely by now have over paid them - if you want to run the numbers by us let us know, you can prbally get in the info from bank statements.. follow the steps in this link on how to deal with - http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/dealingwith-illegallenders.html.

Thank you so much Mom!!!!. I am going to send the information from New Hampshire to the Washington State Attorney General's office. We may be able to block them here as well. I know Cash Call is licensed in Washington to provide Mortgages only. This will prove they are a scam and maybe bar them entirely from Washington state.

Washington is just going after WS
Unfortunately, Washington State is just going after WS and not Cash Call. I am still going to forward the New Hampshire documents you gave us momofthree as it shows how Western Sky is not actually doing anything but selling it's name. This may give us in Washington State more ammunition in our fight against them. I am still seeing commercials for Western Sky on TV in Washington State so the cease and desist has not worked very well.
