Lender / Amount Borrowed / Amount Paid
Golden Valley / $600 / $1250
PayDay Flex / $600 / $892.79
Money Loans Quick / $550 / $223
Castle PayDay loans / $500 / $0
Great Plains / $1000 / $0
Target Cash Now / $500 / $0
I'm pretty sure none of these are legal in Texas, except maybe Payday Flex.
I'm embarrassed to be in this position.
All of your lenders are
All of your lenders are illegal except Payday Flex. You owe nothing more than the principal. Just close down your old bank account and open a new one. Ask them for a refund as you have already overpaid them.
Do not be embarrassed. It
Do not be embarrassed. It happens to the best of us. On this site, click on link on how to deal with unlicensed lenders. Follow every step, do not skip. As far as Castle, Great Plains and Target Cash Now are concerned, you do owe the original amount borrowed....nothing more. Keep us posted on your progress.
I emailed Golden Valley and I
I emailed Golden Valley and I'm waiting to hear back from them. I've tried inquiring with Money Quick Loans to find out if they are licensed in Texans. While I researched on my own and found out they are not, every time I try to inquire via email or phone, the request goes unanswered. When I asked by phone, they stated they did not give out that information. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they were all in a "meeting".
The ones I have not yet paid on, I will pay.
I did receive a refund from
I did receive a refund from Golden Valley for what I overpaid. I'm scared to email the others the letter revoking my payment as I don't want phone calls to my boss. Sadly, I don't recall which ones have my boss's phone#. Secondly, I haven't paid them all in full yet. Ugh. I just need to pull the trigger and do it!
Just let your boss know that
Just let your boss know that you have a been a victim of fraud and that they may be getting some phone calls to simply ignore.
You are most likely the
You are most likely the victim of a scam. When you apply online for PDLs they sell your information all over the place. You will start receiving phone calls from people trying to collect on loans you never had, loans you never defaulted on, etc. It's a well known scam. The calls come from overseas and usually always have callers with Middle Eastern accents with plain American sounding names like John Smith, etc. Filing bankruptcy will not stop these calls, nothing does but ignoring them, and every time your information is sold you will get a new round of calls. You need to secure your bank account from any payment arrangements you have made. If they are recent, you may be able to ask the bank to report it as fraud and reverse the charges -- usually has to be within the last 30 days. As far as your job, you need to tell your employer and whoever answers the phone that you are the victim of identity fraud and that you have been receiving harassing phone calls. Instruct them to hang up on the callers. Once they stop getting you on the phone they will eventually stop, but the more times you engage them, and especially pay them, they are going to keep calling. It may take a couple of weeks for them to get the hint and stop calling, but they will stop once they realize they will get nothing more from you. You need to block any phone calls to you cell or home. It's a pain, but it is the only way to stop it. Until they sell your information again.
PayDay Loan
So it's been brought to my attention that I could possibly be a victim of fraud and sending money to people who don't "exsit"
To make a long story short I had a few payday loans a few years ago. I never received anything after I moved and then today I received a threatening phone call from one of the companies. I want to find out who I owe and how much and try to settle these. I pulled a credit report and there wasn't anything on there. Where can I go? I don't know who I owe and what I owe from the past Loans,
I don't have access to my old account that I was using...it's getting very scary and stressful, it almost sound like every time someone calls its the same person different name.
They call my job non stop for hours at a time, which forces me to pay them so they can stop calling...
Almost as if it is automatically calling non stop until I anser and set up a payment plan. I have two companies, who i have a payment plan set up and expecting payment next week, I know that if i don't pay I will non-stop calls again at my job. which is embarrassing but it is not like the calls come straight to me....I don't know how to get them to stop people keep telling me report it to FTC, which I have (and nothing) also said to talk to my AG which is not helping to don't know what else to do. I can' afford to file bankruptcy. I live in NJ.
Its hard for me to believe
Its hard for me to believe they will stop calling. One night they spent 4 hours calling my job... Until I paid. I work at a hotel and there no no way we have access to keep hanging up.
You shouldn't have paid. Now
You shouldn't have paid. Now all you did was let them have control and they will keep shaking you until you have nothing left.
I know I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO,
I know I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO, but I can't let them call my job for 4 hours either...
Then don't let them. Tell
Then don't let them. Tell your coworkers it is a scammer calling you because you were a victim of fraud. When they call answer the phone and tell them to drop dead. Tell your coworkers to have fun with them on the phone. Do something BUT DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE.
tell them they are not
tell them they are not allowed to call your work phone and any communication should be done in writing. Continuing to contact you at work after you inform them is a violation of the FDCPA and it should shut them up.
Castle Payday
I received the same standard response from Castle Payday, as others have posted here. I have paid back the principal + $25. They want me to come to an agreement/payment plan with them to pay an additional $475.
Payment Schedule:
07/12/2013 $118.75
07/26/2013 $118.75
08/09/2013 $118.75
08/23/2013 $118.75
I basically resent the same exact email I initially sent them revoking my ACH authorization. What is the best professional way to respond to this besides me copying and pasting the same exact email each time they send me a "Resolution Attempt".
castle payday
Who cares if it professional. Just keep sending it. Castle Payday is part of Red Rock Lending which is tribal. As long as your account is secure don't worry about it. Eventually, they will stop or send you to some collection agency and you can c&d them.
Castle & Target Cash Now
Update -
Castle keeps sending the same resolution email over and over. I keep responding with "see my original email below".
Target Cash Now called my work and my cell. I answered and spoke to the guy b/c I don't want him calling my references which I'm afraid he will do if I "ignore" the call. However, he kept insisting that they didn't have to abide by state laws, only Federal Laws and that they were not in violation of them. I said I'd mail him $50 the balance left on the principal balance. He wanted to refuse me mailing the payment and said $50 wasn't good enough. I said email me the mailing address and I will mail you $50. He "thinks" that I will be mailing more over time, but in fact, I will not be. Haw anyone else dealt with Target Cash Now? Any suggestions one what else to do? I've paid $450 on a $500 original loan but he says I owe $850 due to returned fees and finance charges. He stated that he could knock off $150. I said no. HELP ME!!!
*Last thing - I keep trying to post a new thread and it won't let me. I post it but then it never appears. I'm selecting for it to post in this specific forum. Any suggestions?
Castle & Target
I would just keep sending the same thing to Castle. As far as Target Cash Now they list an address on their website as P. O. Box 581, Hays, MT. I would just send them a money order for the 50.00 bucks. Tell you references if you remember who you listed that you are a victim of a scam and to ignore the calls if they get one.
Not much more you can do with
Not much more you can do with Castle or Target Cash other than keep sending emails, no address, no money....plain and simple.....if they call your references just inform your references that you have been a victim of fraud.....as far as your posts go contact Jason via PM and explain the problem you are having
