Hey all,

I'm trying to do debt consolidation and have received offers to consolidate through "Hess Kennedy & Company" and "Credicure". Has anyone had any dealings with these companies? If so, how would you rank them? Thanks everyone.

Alex

Guest, they don't consolidate..it's supposedly debt settlement. You have to build up enough money in your trust acct. for them to start making settlement proposals to your creditors.

I knew I had enough money built up for them to start trying to settle some of my smaller accts., but they never did. I questioned this and they said they sent out letters to all of my creditors when I started with them, and they would send me copies of the letters. I was faxed 2 letters, which basically stated that they were representing me, and the acct. was being disputed and listed possible reasons why they were disputing it. Of course, the creditors never responded... But, I had more than 2 accts. with them, so where were the rest of the letters. Also, one minute they tell you they help you with debt settlement, then the next minute you're told that they fight against debt collectors...

I started reading more and more negative things about them, not just on this forum, and they stopped responding to my emails, kept me on hold for over an hour when I'd call, and the few times I did manage to speak to someone, was treated very rudely and was told nothing. After almost 6 months of this, I finally closed my bank acct. so they couldn't debit any further payments, and sent them a letter to terminate their services and request a refund of the funds in my settlement/trust acct. That was at the beginning of January. It is now April and I have had no refund or correspondence from them of any kind. When I called and queried this with a paralegal, she said a statement would be sent to me in a day or two, they were really back-logged.... That was over a month ago, and no statement yet. It's a joke!!

Do not use these people. They never do what they claim to do, and never provide any information to the clients.

I got hooked up with hesskennedy through
Consumer credit counseling of America. I do think these are both one in the same company. They did nothing for me but make my matters worse. After 6 months Hess Kennedy finally refunded the money they owed me, Consumer Credit of America kept 410.00 of my money for services they did not provide to me. I got garnishments on debnts they were suppose to be settling yet hadnt talked to any of my creditors. After getting in touch with a local news station I finally did get part of my mopnmey back. Please people I know you dont know me but dont get involved with these people. They do nothinbg but take your money.

We just started with Hess Kennedy & Associates and everything seems to be ok. Things just take time . We are in debt hope to be out in 42 months. Everthing is very professional and efficient so far/

Roy & Marcia -

I fully agree that these things take time, and in the beginning Hess Kennedy seemed very professional and efficient to me as well. Obviously, if they weren't, people wouldn't sign up with them. After a few months of debiting my acct., that's when things started going downhill.

I discovered a few months back that this forum isn't the only place on the internet that has postings from unhappy clients and former clients, which was very troubling. My hope is that you don't find yourselves in a similar situation to those of us who are out money that we paid each month in good faith, and who have creditors filing judgments against us on accts. that Hess Kennedy were to be handling.

And research all available options. I am unfortunately trying to convince our members every day to not go with settlement companies. Any company that does not send us a monthly payment in regards to revolving debt does not help you!! Your credit only gets worse as your accounts become more delinquent. Depending on the balance, it is worth it for us to seek a judgement since we are not receiving monthly payments anyway. It's better to file bankruptcy then have a settlement company take your money every month. At least you can recover from a bankruptcy nowadays, it's hard to recover from a garnishment.

Mike,
Glad to hear from you. I am getting leary of these supposed debt settlement companies myself.Seems like every one I research on to see if they are up to snuff has some underhanded dealings. I don't need any of these companies, just want to see who I would be safe to send some of our members to.

I am happy to see you back and welcome your opinion and viewpoint. You know I don't like most collectors. You remind me of the 1% out there that do their job correctly and in compliance with the law. I really wish someone would teach the other 99% that your way of collecting is the way to get paid. I had one call me maybe about five years ago that was in that 1%.Not only did they get paid immediately,we respected each others position as well.

This company is a HUGH scam! If you've signed up with The Credit Exchange and haven't received anything from Hess/Kennedy don't hold your breath. After reading the many, many complaints, and the numerous rip off reports throught the BBB, I sent a letter revoking authorization to debt any payments. If you are really looking to get debt free check out a bank or local company that you can walk into and deal with a real person. NO ONE requires you to sign an agreement forbidding you to speak with your creditors when they call to discuss payment options.

I, too am registered with them - If you sent in a voided check number, they, of course, will electronically debit your account. I'm working with them - my debts are very high, and they approach you the way you approach them 0- no offense, please, are you impatient, rude, etc.? I understand your anxiety, but am willing to give them a chance.

B Whitney and all others that are registerd with this company I too was patient and I got tired of waiting each month no statment, no phone calls, no nothing! I'm wanting people getting my money to at least put a monthly statement in the mail to you. This is very wrong and I should have went with my inside gut feeling when signing with this CRAP of a company. Hess Kennedy is a bunch of liars and I hope they do go under and I hope a pray people will read these forums and not get into this company. They need to be put in jail for doing this to people. I'm out of $519.00 and will not get it back. They said it was for legal services yeah right and I'm the queen of England!! I'm so mad now I could just bite nails into. I'm getting off of here before I blow my top PEOPLE JUST STAY AWAY FROM HESS KENNEDY NOW AND ALWAYS.

You know, this service might just be the right thing for someone at their last resort before bankruptcy, however, if you are not at wits end, please pay close attention. What this service offers is a way out of your credit card debt, for 45 to 55% of what you owe, however there is one thing that is glossed over. When you sign on, they tell you right out, that the money you send them is put into an escrow account. What happens is you send them your monthly payment, and after their fee is taken out, the rest goes into sits in escrow until the negotiations are complete. This can take years, which means your creditors are not getting paid. Understand here what the attorney network does. After you give them all your credit information, they contact the creditors and file disputes on all of them, which freezes the account. The attorney audits your credit card accounts and will fight to get the amount owed reduced. This is not all bad.

My wife and I were all ready to sign off on the program, until we found out that the money sat in escrow and our creditors got nothing until the negotiations were completed. This is not what we were looking for, as we still need to live, and we were concerned that this would adversely affect our credit, even though, we were told time after time that it would not. We decided that we didn't want to take that chance, and opted out before we even got started.

I put a call into the rep that we were working with, and my wife ended up talking to him, and told him we wanted out. After the usual "are you sure" questions, and the "but why would you want to pay them all that money" pushes, they ended the conversation, and the day went on.

About 2 hours later, my wife got a call from someone else with the organization, again, questioning the soundness of our decision. After my wife explained our concerns and reassuring this gentleman that we were convinced that we were making the right decision, the call got nasty. This really convinced me that we got out of this process, not a moment too soon.

Again, this program may not have been what I was looking for, it may be exactly what someone else needs. Do as much research as you can. This is your credit, and what you do now, can effect you for quite a long time.

Hi Everyone,

I know this is long but it is WORTH READING, trust me!!!!

I am back to give you an update regarding my experience with Hess Kennedy Company or should I say ??????HELL KENNEDY CRIMINALS??????.

I posted a long message a couple of months ago on this forum after I found this webt site online to let you all know that if you are in the Hess Kennedy Debt program or considering it...Don't bother! YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR TIME AND MOST OF ALL YOUR MONEY !!!!

This company gets a "F" or effort and an "A++++" for being the king of Business Scammers. I hope they do get caught and put out of business and return my money. The only reason they are still in business is because they take people??????s monies and find every little excuse to ruin your life just to make a profit. They make their money from scamming people and not for their so call ??????excellent services.??????

Here is my story:

I signed up with this program in August 2006. Now it is May 2007, my creditors have not been paid a dime since then and no negotiations have taken place for 8 months into this program. I call Hess constantly to get an update on my account and it is really tough to get a hold of someone who can give you an update on your account and you NEVER EVER get to speak with a lawyer or anyone except one negotiator name Jenna Hudson. ??????Even then when I call her, it takes at the very least 3-4 days to get to speak with her and sometimes it takes 2 weeks to get her on the phone. I have been in this program for so long, I have never gotten one letter from this company, not one return phone call, and most importantly non of my credit card accounts have been settle. There is enough money in my trust account to pay off two creditors and Hess does not want to do that. They are holding my money until it builds up enough to the amount of fees I am require to pay them and then they pretty much ditching me.

Just recently I received the ONLY phone call for the first time from Hess about my stop payment to their company. I thought it through and realize that I can no longer stay in their program because I do not trust what they are doing with my money and I do not see that they are doing anything to help me except putting me deeper into debt then when I started with them in August 2006.

Now I have been in this program for 10 months, I have 7 credit card accounts I submitted for them to consolidate and none of them are settle. I decided to take out 4 accounts and move it to another company name Superior Debt Services which by the way is absolutely excellent in providing help to people who are REALLY LOOKING for help. They are sincere, responsive, and professional. If you all need to switch over to their company or you are new to seeking debt help, definitely consider their company. You will not regret this, they really listen and try their best to work with you.

Now, I recently decided to stop the payment to Hess so I can take out the other credit card accounts that have not gotten as serious as a claim or summons filed against me. I have never been sue for anything in my life and this is very scary for me and Hess in no way guide or help me through my tough time. I went to my local banking branch and asked if they can put the payment on hold until I can find out more information. They said they can not do that and the only way is to stop the payment. I proceeded with doing that, but I had no idea that it would result in Hess Kennedy Company cancelling my account with them. I called Hess Kennedy to tell them about this and asked that they take out 4 credit card accounts which I moved to Superior Debt Serivces and told them to work on the 3 accounts that are currently suing me and filed a claim against me. I figure since my experience with Hess has not been positive at all, I didn??????t want to use their services anymore for the remaining of my 4 still okay standing credit card accounts. They let my 3 accounts go to court and didn??????t help me to settle it and I was furious about this.

I felt like the last 10 months has been wasted time resulting in more debt build up because of interest and late fees and Hess did not care. ??????Even though CLEARLY they have enough money in the trust account to settle on two accounts for me. I thought the best thing to do is to get out of their program as soon as possible, so I left the 3 accounts for them to finish handling and it is the ones that are suing me. When I called Hess repeatedly for 2 weeks to get a new monthly adjusted amount to pay them because I took out the accounts, they claim they will work on it. It took them 2 weeks to get back to me and even then the paralegal had no idea my account was cancelled when he was giving me the new monthly payment amount information. I didn??????t find out until 2 weeks later that Hess cancelled my account and told me they will not reinstate it because of the stop payment.

I thought that was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and I feel completedly ripped off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I explained to them that I stopped the payment because I was waiting for a recalculation of what I should pay them every month since I took out 4 credit cards. I spoke to the cancellation department and Nicole Jennings told me that they most likely WILL NOT reinstate my account because they were insulted by the stop payment. I told her this is not right because this is clearly a misunderstanding and the fact that they didn??????t call me right away when they saw the stop payment, to ask what was wrong.. I thought that is unprofessional and they simply did not care and just closed out my account without asking why and trying to work it out.

I asked her what will happen to the $3,337.58 that I put into my trust account at Hess for the last 8 months I have been in this program. I asked her to reinstate the account so I can finish my 6 months that I have left and be debt free of these 3 credit cards. She said she can not and asked me to speak with Adam Soremane, the business manager there, but coincidently he was not in the office today. But she does not think he will reinstate it at all. I asked to then refund my money and she said I will not get the full amount. I was so upset because that was all the money I had to put into being debt free and she clearly did not care. Her reaction is that of a typical 9-5 worker and she doesn??????t care what happens to your life as long as she gets paid, I could hear it in her voice. She said they will refund my money base on HOW MUCH THEY HAVE WORKED ON MY ACCOUNT, I said how do u determine something like that. She said it goes by your original contract. But mind you the original agreement is not the same amount of credit card debt I have decided to take out of their program. NO work has been done therefore I feel like for them to take my $3,000.00 is entirely unfair and they are scamming me.

I was completely frozen and upset.. I could not believe I just got ripped off and practically handed them $3,000.00 free dollars. They have done nothing for my account for 8 months and now they want to take the FULL FEE of what I should give them.

I plan to fight this to either have them reinstate my account and finish what they started or refund my money back.

It is not fair to be taken this way and I am so surprised they are still in business scamming people around the nation. They need to be expose and put out of business. I urge you all to help me in this, feel free to contact me at wkristenlee(at)hotmail.com or 917-842-1065.
I have a plan and even for those of you who have lost a lot of money from years ago, you can still help people like me and people who plan to sign up with their company.

We can all join together and fight this together and I do plan to get my money back.
YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE FROM FIGHTING THIS AND IF WE ALL STICK TOGETHER WE CAN DRIVE THEM OUT OF BUSINESS THE CORRECT WAY.
Possibly get all of our monies back.

I am taking this very seriously and I plan to keep on fighting this to get my money back.

For those of you who want to join me, please do! Do not be afraid to fight back as you have abolsutely nothing to lose from doing this.

Please contact me if you will like to help. This would work positively with a group of people than alone.

I have been with HessKennedy for over a year now . . . i had over $12,000 in debt and they have helped me reduce my debt by 75% already. Not only that, but they have sued 2 of my creditors and those creditors not only reduced my debt, but paid me $3,000 to settle!!! I can't speak for everyone's experience, but as far as mine, it has been nothing but excellent. They were up front with me on how long this process would take, and everything they said was gonna happen, has happened.

Most people get in serious debt like this over a long period of time, so to expect to get out of debt quickly is naive. Give the program a chance to work for you, and I'm sure you'll find what i found.

They sued two of my creditors already. I've only been in the program for 6 months and already they've stopped my creditors from harassing me. They told me that it would take some time for me to get completely out of debt, which I understand because it took some time for me to get into this much debt. They have been honest with me since the beginning and disclosed everything up front. I would recommend this firm to anyone in need of help.

Anyone else find it extremely suspicious that after several pages of bad stories about this company, all of the sudden within 21 hours there are 5 positive comments all under guest accounts and all with fairly non-specific information? Well, I do. I almost guarantee those guest posts are all by employees.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE HESS KENNEDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went from being a little "tight" every month to having to file BANKRUPTCY!!!!!

We paid them $6,000 and they never paidout a dime - they said it was for "ATTORNEY FEES". NO WHERE IN OUR CONTRACT DID IT SAY THAT THEY KEEP 15% OF YOUR DEBT FOR ATTORNEYS FEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have your BK attorney contact hess kennedy. a $6000 payment and no results can easily be collected from the trustee as an "out of the ordinary payment"

Wow, $6000 and no results. i think that is the highest complaint yet in this here "consumer" forum.

Have you not read what everyone has been writing about Hess Kennedy ? Do you really believe like " I signed up Wednesday " wrote that creditors were contacted in two-three business days. They will not be contacted for months , if at all. Sure, the plan works like you wrote paying them money and Hess Kennedy holding it till they tell you there is enough to settle with a creditor. In the meantime they will not tell you what that amount is, or howmuch longer it will take, or who gets paid off. Of course they will take their fees off the top. In the meantime your creditors will come a calling, trust me. Then your credit rating will begin to decrease which could affect any future loans. Stop paying them ; try to talk with your creditors directly. I am writing this because of first-hand knowledge. You are throwing money down the drain!! Good Luck.

K. Mills, be careful, many debt collectors who are losing money and being sued individually post in here.

Hess Kennedy sued a debt collector and is in the process through the use of a subpoena finding the debt collector who said i would be arrested for not paying my bills. Once they find out who he is they are going to add him to the complaint.

Maintain your collection activity log for a week, send it in, and i assure you by that next week, they will sue whoever is calling you and threatening.

I have a phone appointment with a bankruptcy attorney tomorrow because Hess Kennedy has done nothing for me in 10 months and I have no where to turn. Their "paralegals" are very rude and do nothing but send IM's to each other while you are trying to talk about your finances with them. I signed up with them July '06 and if I had seen anything like the info I have seen in this forum, I certainly would not have done it. They do not keep you informed and you have to call periodically to see if a letter has been sent out. They told me to write a letter to the company that is treatening to put a lien on my house to say I have moved to Florida to their address. Are you KIDDING ME?? Such a terrible business. I am about to have my check garnished by one of the creditors that told me that "they don't care about HK's letters, and if they would have responded in a timely manner, my situation would have been a lot better than it is now". I have foolishly paid HK $4,750 in 10 months and I am broker than broke with 2 jobs.
I just hope a BK lawyer can deal with HK from now on, because I can't take it anymore. You think you are trying to make good from your past mistakes, and it only gets worse.
They deal with letters and faxes to your creditors. Never a phone call. It's pathetic and bad business. I kick myself each day for being so nieve!

The use letters and faxes to build a record. Any creditor or debt collector who will not correspond in writing is a scam. Watch out.

In debt in Detroit,
I, to wan in debt about $30,000 and Hess Kennedy sounded like a charm. We'll talk to your creditors and take care of you is what Adam told me. Debbie tole me too that they would take care of it all. Every time I called I was put on hold, have never had anything sent to me in the mail about my account, or had any kind of e-mail sent. I got tired of it all and now I'm having to settle my debts myself and I'm so sick of this place. I try not to let this place upset me but since I've dealt with them a year ago it gets into your system a little. I hope Adam, Debbie, and Jessica that answers the phones have some kind of heart at what they are doing. It's hurting people and they still are having people sign up with them. What the Heck!!!! STAY AWAY FROM HESS KENNEDY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

I have been dealing with hess kennedy company for about two months on my debts and all they have done is take my money and not done anything about my debts as they had promised. I am still getting calls from creditors who say they have not been contacted by anyone from hess kennedy and i believe them!! I am beginning to think this company is fraudelent! I have called Richard Taylor a number of times and he tells me something different to do each time. I have done everything he has told me to do and they still haven't settled my debt. Also he won't return my calls, I have to call him until I reach him. Therefore, i definitely would not recommend this company to anyone.

:( I have been with HK for 12 months, They have not settled any of my accounts. Now they want me to file bankrupcy at my expense with a local attorney in my home state. And all my fees that I have paid are non refundable. Did I get the royal shaft?

This company managed to get me further in debt and unlawfully keep my money also. I have had experience with almost every bad thing people have posted here. How dare they take advantage of people who are already in need of help.

Hi KM,

I HIGHLY recommend superior debt serivies. I removed my remaining 4 accounts out of Hess kennedy into their company and it is working wonders for me and they HAVE EXCELLENT customer service and they are not a debt consolidation company and they are reputable by BBB.com, and have a great standing company rating!

After posting my long e-mail on here about Hess and how they didn't help me for 9 months... the other day one of my accounts finally got settled and paid off. --that took a lot of effort of calling hess a thousand times a day to speak to someone and to nag them. Basically in my opinion, they really have TERRIBLE customer service, they are the type of company that if you want things done you have to nag them every minute of the day which really is ridiculous but that was the hard way I learned it and got them to get things done.
Also, to be honest...when they say you creditors won't get paid until a settlement is reached,... I can explain this better .--what HESS really means is that if you don't have enought money yet in your trust account to settlement even one credit card account, you have to to basically wait until you are being sue and you received a summons like I did and then that's when Hess decides to negotiate. Sadly...they have a terrible way of running their business and messing up their clients credit score/ ratings after you get into their program. Hess doesn't tell us clients that upfront, but I got sued already for two accounts and just a week ago a few days before my court date, hess settled one of them. they are not working to settle the other one that I am being sued for. I was so stressed out for weeks worrying about appearing in court and thank god I didn't have to. With Hess, the number one thing is you have to have enough money build up before they will do anything to contact your creditors, as frustrating as it is...that is how Hess is. I can't tell you countless times how angry I was on the phone with them and calling them a few times a day to get through to speak to someone, Jenna Hudson who works at Hess is the negotiator and I am constantly calling her to get updates even if it is just a little update. Hess will never call you back so don't expect it, they will just tell u they are too busy and it is better to keep calling them to get someone to speak to.

Because I had to learn the hard way with Hess, I had to end up moving the 4 other accounts out of Hess and transferred it to Superior Debt Services. For those of you who just signed up or thinking of signing up with HEss.... I urge you not to and really do your research to look for a company that is ceritified by bbb.com and also look up the history and ratings on the company before you commit to one.

Although Hess, after almost 10 months has help me settle 1 account out of 7 I originally submitted to them.. and have to finish settling 2 more for me because I moved out the other accounts... I still DO NOT recommend anyone to use them.

Seriously, you must take my post into consideration.. I have had the worst experience with them though they help me in the end a little bit.. I still give them
