Hey all,

I'm trying to do debt consolidation and have received offers to consolidate through "Hess Kennedy & Company" and "Credicure". Has anyone had any dealings with these companies? If so, how would you rank them? Thanks everyone.

Alex

Cajun:

At least I am not whining about my debt or my law firm. These people expect magic and complaint about how they owe credit card companies $15,000.00 have paid in $1200 to their debt settlement company and want to know why they have not settled their debt.

Do you know how many times I have told a consumer that I have not heard from Hess Kennedy and they believe me and cancel with the law firm.

They deserve everything they get. They are fickle, unsophisticated, and have the same expections of immediate gratification from their settlement company as they do with their credit cards.

This company was recommended to my son by the army to try to get his debts settled. He lost the original papers to give them power of attorney and wrote asking for replacement. He never got them. In the meantime they deducted nearly $1500 from our bank account and never paid a penny on his behalf. Recently he contacted them to stop the deductions and to find out what was going on. They did stop taking money but refunded only a little over $500 of the $1500. The rest was to cover the cost of administrative services which were never performed. Additionally the man with whom he talked told him, "I'm wasting my time talking to you." And hung up. Form your own conclusion.

I am a loan officer and I'm helping a girl right now who has been paying them for over a year and they have done nothing for her. All her credit Cards are in default and she is being sued!

They screwed my son big time. They took $1500 from him and never paid a penny on his debts. He talked with one woman who said they had and a man who said, "I'm wasting my time talking to you." They returned a little over $500 to him and kept nearly $1000 for absolutely no services rendered.

I signed up with Hess Kennedy in January of 2007. I have been paying them like clock work and nothing has been done. I have called and called and called and left many messages and nobody will call me back. I want to cancel my account with them because I can do what they said they would do way faster. They are slow and try to act like they care and they dont. I am sick and tired of getting the run-a-round and thats all you get from this company. DO NOT sign anything with Hess Kennedy.

Do NOT go through this "company". My friend just got scammed out of $3000 and found out this company does this to everyone...They change their phone number and location and you can never reach them. My friends credit is now going to be screwed up for at least 2 years.

Very simple, I have empathy for those who have posted of their financial woes and bad experiences, however I also have had experience with debt and debt management options and it sounds like this list consist of some individuals who either have a grudge, or did not listen carefully to the programs they were enrolling in. In order to effectively eliminate debt, there are a couple of options before the wall of BK, which are consolidation, or settlement. Each has benefits and pitfalls, and it is each persons soul responsibility to listen carefully and ask questions. If you put faith in another with no self thought, you guide and allow yourself to faulty decision making.

I was leary for the past few months reading all these posts saying how they have been screwed. I was contacted today by hess kennedy and I have 2 cards being settled. Chase bank settled my first. I owed 13000. The settlement was for 4500. I cant believe it. I have been with them for 18 months. Glad I stuck with them. This is no joke guys. I still have one more card and im hoping that it will get half.

It almost seems like there is motive against HK here. I'm willing to be that there are several different posters with the same ip address saying negative things about them.

If they are as terrible as the majority is saying, then the state would shut them down. Right?

Does anyone know if Hess and Kennedy have other locations outside of Florida? If not do you know if they recommend anyone in the state of Tennessee.

Maria, I have looked and looked and cannot find a number for them, it looks like they prefer email through CustomerCare@CCCAmerica.org. Sorry I couldn't help more, if you need anything else, just ask! Happy to help!

There are many debt consolidation services out there, be sure when you call to ask thorough questions about what the service does, and how they'll do it.

I once did debt consolidation and it worked for me I was able to pay off 75% of my debt within a year and I my credit score has improved. I have never heard of the company you're going through so it would'nt hurt to do some research before making your decision.

While I haven't used the companies you list, debt consolidation has the power to set a person free from debt stress assuming they stick to the new payment program and use common sense on future promises.

Thank you!

Hi Alex,

I personally have not had experience with this company. I would suggest checking out any business with the better business bureau.
