Tried to register with the site but never received any of the emails that would let me set my password, in inbox or spam folder. Attempted to post about this last night, but I believe my post was flagged as spam, so apologies if I end up with two threads.

I need advice on how to handle both my 2 outstanding payday loans and the 3rd party collector who has been calling me recently. I live in NY and have these two loans from 2011: Cash Jar for $550; The VIP Loan Shop for $500. I stopped using the Ally bank account tied to these long ago; tried to close it but they never did. Don't know how much I've repaid; will have to request statements from Ally.

Zimmerman, Young & Associates has been leaving me voicemails about an "urgent matter" etc, the usual crap. Don't know who the original lender is. Last week, my HR dept. sent me an employment verification form from Zimmerman. I told HR I wasn't signing it and don't want Zimmerman to have my info; HR then told me they had called Zimmerman and I needed to call Zimmerman myself, and that HR would hold onto the form and await further instructions.

Do I need to do anything further with Ally and the old bank account? What should I do about my HR dept's involvement? I plan to find out which company Zimmerman is calling for, then send Zimmerman a C&D letter, then contact Cash Jar and VIP Loan Shop using the unlicensed lenders advice found here. Is that what I should do?

Thanks so much for these forums; this information and your time is deeply appreciated. Thanks for any advice, also.

Both Cash Jar and VIP Loan Shop are illegal lenders. You owe them nothing more than the principal balance. No interest, no fees. Simply close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account. Ask Zimmerman, Young & Associates to validate the debt in writing via certified mail with a return receipt request. If they don’t give any valid proof, send them a Cease and Desist letter. After that if they are still trying to contact you, file a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC.

zimmerman young is a scumbag bottomfeeder that needs to be reported asap.use the name and any ph numbers to file the complaints.now as for you above me.advising about the validation is stupid in the exterme as you can't request validation over the phone.it needs to be done in writing by the person being called.advising the OP file complaints was okay, but it needs to be done now as this place has no real address as it is a bottomfeeder.

#1, I know they are illegal lenders; that's why I plan to write to both companies using the info about illegal lenders found on these forums. No one has attempted to debit anything from the bank account tied to these loans since 2011. I just didn't know if I need to do anything with the account or the bank since the acct. is still technically open.

I will definitely be reporting Zimmerman to as many agencies as I can. I did find a Buffalo NY address for them so I figure I will try sending them a C&D letter. I don't think I need to bother sending them anything about validating my debt because we all know they won't.

I am more concerned about my HR dept. I don't think this is anything I could lose my job over, but I don't like knowing that HR is just holding onto this form waiting for me to respond. I want to know what Zimmerman told HR, because I'm sure they told them all kinds of lies. It will be nice to add to my complaints. Is there a delicate way to approach this or should I just tell them exactly what's going on?

go over your HR'S head.you are under no legal obligation to respond to that.this bottomfeeder can't do shit, and your HR person should be fired for giving that any weight whatsoever.again go over this moron's head and inform them you are not signing a thing.btw i know it was faxed with no real info on it about them(i mean zimmerman if the idiot had to call them).btw give your idiot HR person your info on zimmerman young.to close this really infuriates me as again your HR person should not have their job period then end.

I emailed my HR person and his boss (who he'd copied on his last email to me) and told them exactly what was up. That was last Thursday and I haven't heard anything since, so I'm considering the matter closed with them.

Zimmerman is still calling me; today an actual person left me a message saying that she needed to talk to me about a case being filed against me; she wanted to talk to me before the paperwork was sent to the county. Hahaha...go ahead and serve me then, idiot. I'm sending out the C&D letter tomorrow and filing the complaints with FTC, AG, etc. today.

I Googled the Buffalo address for Zimmerman and it looks like they've also gone by other names at the same location: National Credit Works LLC and Quantum Asset Recovery. So if anyone hears from either of those companies, they're just as full of crap as Zimmerman is.

Thanks again for all your help!
